Alpine is a Spirit Shephard, he guides those who are lost to an afterlife they can finally rest in. During one of his long journey's he came across a small village.. children were running about giggling and chatting with one another. Overhearing one of their conversations, the children spoke of a tale, one about two boys who had gone into the old birch forest. The old goat wandered into the forest, having decided to investigate the tale wanting to know if it was true. He came across a small ent, it was crying.. looking at the ent he saw a soul, it was lost and wounded. He decided to help the boy, since it was his job to guide the lost souls. The boy didn't want to leave the forest though, he had claimed it as his home. He told the goat his saddening story and Alpine left him be, promising to come visit and keep him company every once in awhile, but he can't stay forever, he has a job to do.
