“Stay still Red boy, the more you move the more it will hurt.” The onyx haired simian sat at the side of the Demon Bull King's son, The young demon huffed yet obliged at the simians request and sat still to have his wounds patched up. Red son occasionally looked over to MK who was sitting with Aloo and then back to his makeshift doctor. Red Son looked at Tao’s face. He couldn't read the simian's mind but he knew something was up. Tao was too occupied with mentind Red Son’s wounds, Tao couldn't bring himself to say it but he was scared, no wait, scared was an understatement, he was petrified. As Tao looked over Red Son one last time, checking his handiwork with his bandaged, he sighed, Tao and Aloo accidentally ran into the Monkey Kid and Red Son by accident, Tao just wanted to get Aloo away from the ice spikes that threatened their home and their lives. Tao had sworn to keep Aloo safe and he planned to keep that promise until his heart ceased to beat. “Are you alright, Lee?” Red Son made it a habit of his to call Tao by his last name; Lee, Tao didn't mind it, it was still his name after all. “I'm fine, I just have a lot on my mind.” I ended my sentence with a sharp breath in, I let it out slowly while I held onto my side, I did get cut by an ice spike and it wasn't the best feeling ever. “It's not good to hold those emotions and thoughts in, remember that.” Tao nodded and watched as Red Son walked off to speak with MK, to come up with a way to save Mei and the world, Aloo had stood up as Red Son knelt and sat down next to the monkey kid. Aloo smiled at Red Son and patted his shoulder before hurrying to Tao’s side, the onyx haired simian was occupied analyzing his calised, cut and bruise covered hands, he fought for Aloo so much even though he knew Aloo could defend himself Tao gave it his all to defend this somewhat little brother of his. Tao felt Aloo tug on his sleeve, a soft sorrowful face met the blank one of the other, Aloo was worried, he didn't need to say anything for Tao to understand that, infact Aloo didn't speak at all, only when he absolutely needed or wanted to. “I'm okay Aloo, I'm okay.”  Tao reached up and placed his hand on Aloo’s head, Aloo smiled but he wasn't satisfied with Tao’s response, he looked exhausted and tore down, but most of all, he could see the terror in his eyes ripping him apart from the inside. Aloo cupped Tao’s face in his hands and gently hit his forehead against Tao’s. “What was that for bub?” Aloo let go of Tao’s face and took his palm into his own hand, placing his finger on the back of Tao’s hand and tracing the word ‘reassurance’ onto it. Tao couldn’t help the smile beginning to form on his face followed by a small laugh, “Thank you, Aloo.” The ashen haired simian smiled and bounced up and down, expressing his delight with these small movements. Tao held Aloo’s hand tight and sighed, his breath showing up in front of him, that’s odd? It really was, but it wasn't that cold was it? Now that Tao could feel the frigid air slip under his clothes He stood up quickly, knowing what this meant. Tao had Looked around seeing that Red Son and Mk had gone, this was bad, the temperature of the air was right near causing Tao to get frostbite. Aloo was holding onto Tao’s shoulder tightly, warning him not to do anything and that they should leave while they could, Tao wished he had listened. “So, two more simians have come to play heroes.” The voice of the Lady Bone Demon had rang through the air and cut through Tao and Aloo like a knife. “Go away!” Tao screamed at what he thought was nothing. He could feel eyes on him, all directions staring at him, everything piercing into his soul. “I'm afraid I can't, I have to pave the way for destiny, and to do that, I have to.” The demon paused to laugh at the two simians. “Remove some pieces from the game.” Tao barely had any time to react but He had enough to push Aloo to the ground and end up in his place, with Sun Wukong's hand wrapped around his throat. Tao dropped his staff to try and get some room between Wukong’s hand and Tao’s throat, The simian was screeching and kicking at the preceding monkey king. “Hmm, You're weak and don't seem to pose a threat, like a flea to be crushed underfoot. My statement still stands, the pieces must be removed.” With no knowledge of what the Bone Demon told Wukong, the possessed Monkey king obeyed, dropping Tao on the ground and grabbing his arm, twisting it behind his back,  he could practically feel his bones being split into pieces and all his nerves were on fire, he saw a pool of blood forming on the splintered wood below him. Tao looked at his now limp arm at his side, it was mangled in a way that seemed nearly impossible to repair. Tao was bawling in pain when it had registered and he recovered from the lack of air in his lungs. Tao Looked at Aloo with tears tumbling down his face, his fur a mess and his arm contorted behind his back, Aloo was trembling with terror and silently crying making as little noise as he could, Aloo watched at Sun Wukong staggered to an upright standing position taking a few steps over Tao’s paralized body and towards him. “Aloo!-” Tao had shrieked his companions name and reached out his still functioning arm to him, Aloo was petrified, stuck in place, waiting for the cursed king to do something to take him out of the aforementioned game, his eyes sealed shut and tears cascared down the simians face. Aloo had opened his eyes in time to see Sun Wukong retreating, stepping back over Tao and disappearing into the frigid sky, Aloo gasped, he wasn't breathing when Wukong was in his face, he fell to his knees and sobbed, holding onto his body so hard his claws pierced his skin and blood stained his ashen fur. “A-Aloo..” Tao’s voice was broken and cracking, he sobbed into the floor below him, calling and reaching for his brother in arms, that was what broke Aloo out of his petrified state. Aloo scrambled to Tao and screeched his name. “Tao!”
