I was scrolling through my camera roll last night, trying to find the most suitable photos for this post.... and I went further back than i expected. one blink and I suddenly found myself back in 2012. and the people staring back at me were almost unrecognizable: one claret playing emo kid from kansas, and another 15-year-old blonde that dressed like a dad at a bbq.
if I wasnt forced into band by my parents, or shipped off to camp at the age of 14, not only would I have never met you, but I wouldn't be anywhere near the same person I am today. you shaped and forever changed my life, colby. you're not just my best friend, youre my family. you're everything I have.
so, happy birthday, dude. lets celebrate those little kids from kansas, the ones who fought over the same girl, the ones who filmed themselves doing weird little skits for their own entertainment, the kids who never knew that some day, they were going to take over the world.
'21 is our year, man. so lets take what we can.
