It's so good to hear from you! Glad to know you weren't ignoring me. And yeah, the phone is always busy. Mom got a new job so she's always using our phone, sorry about that.
Anyway, with El, I would say to write her a letter, as you did me, so you can tell her as soon as possible. As for how to tell her, I would say to not really bring up that you like someone else in the first letter you write to her about it, maybe wait until after the first few. Also, let her down gently, if that makes sense. I know it's in a letter but write it as nicely as possible. Maybe explain that that's why you haven't been saying 'Love, Mike' as well.
I hope you two can still be friends.
