First movie of my adult life that has made me cry more than one tear—M Night Shyamalan's movie Old. He did it again, folks. Made a banger of a movie. I thought I didn't have emotions, but this did the trick.

~So what did I get from it?~

We really REALLY do NOT have much time on this earth, so why in the ever loving heck do we act as if we do? We prioritize all the wrong things, which leads us down all the wrong paths. We deceive ourselves to think we have time when we actually don't. Honestly? Why does anything matter except how we love each other? Why do we get so self-absorbed? Why do we spent our lives wasting precious time being "busy?" Or being so highly focused on outward appearance? Or seeing faults in each other and ourselves?

It's a crying shame. It's disgusting really. I'm trying really hard not to throw a few expletives into this because that's how much I care about this topic.

Call me a basket case, emo, whatever. I don't care.

Ya know what?
Reading depressing books as a kid did me good.
Learning philosophy and Ecclesiastes did wonders.
Being a hospice nurse in your twenties does make you think. Getting sick with a cold has new meaning for me because even a cold can take a person out.
Losing friends and family young does too.

I used to live to die because of my concept of an afterlife (get to God quicker), but why? Why strip myself of the richness of life to seem "moral enough" in the eyes of humans? Why hold grudges when we lose out on the gift of each other?

I want to live as long as I can now.

The only reason? To share life with others. To have fun. Enjoy the ride. (I laugh with my husband more than have a normal conversation because we don't take ourselves too seriously. Why bother?)

We could die anytime. So why don't we start living?

Thanks for the reminder, Mr. Shyamalan!
