"Sorry. It's the last," he said before finally pulling the chair in front of me and settling down. I just stared at him and didn't answer. Hindi naman ako naiinip sa paghihintay. After all, I'm staying because I just don't feel like going home yet...

It seems like he wasn't here for entertainment. When I met him a while ago, too, it didn't seem like he stayed to eat in the restaurant. I didn't dare to pry more. I just know that he may probably be working. We're here at their own business, after all.

"So... what's up? It's the first time you said yes to my invite?" Ngisi niya.

I rolled my eyes. I knew he'd think like that.

"How was he? Your boy?"

Who? Caliber? And why is he calling him my boy? It sounds unpleasant to my ear.

"How did you meet him? Is that your type of guy?"

I frowned. Another thing about him is this. He doesn't care even if I don't answer to his questions.

"I just met him today... and stop calling him my boy," irritated, I said.

He chuckled. "Why not? He looks okay."

"You looked okay, too," I sarcastically said, recalling the first time we met. The way I thought he was unlike other people was because in the first minutes we breathed in the same space, all he did is to give me my peace. Tch.

Humalakhak siya. "Wow. That's offending. You sounded disappointed," he said and sipped on his Iced Americano. "But you just met him today? I see... you can't also escape."

I didn't answer. It's a common thing among the kind of families we belong.

"But you're just 18?"

"My sister got engaged when she was 18."

He nodded. Somehow, it gets into my mind about how was it in his case. He's 20... right? But the way he can still fool around, I think he's still free. His parents are not pushing him unlike how mine do. How enviable...

"Shall I just introduce myself to your parents? I'm sure they'll like me."

I glared at him. For sure. He's a type of treasure my parents don't desire yet because they think they can't still reach their level. But if he presents himself to them... damn it.

"Don't you dare."

He chuckled. "Why not? It would be easier for me to ask for your time if that happens."

"Since when did you ask?"

Kailan ba sya nagtanong? He just hovers around and follow me all the time. He doesn't care about asking. He's just having it through his own ways.

"Anyway, how was he?"

"Fine."

He looked at me while sipping on his coffee. Unlike him, I wasn't touching mine. I just don't feel like taking in coffee in this time of the day.
