You had been married to Chef Saltbaker, the greatest baker in all the lands for about three years now, you had met him when his bakery had reopened and the news spread across the isles. You became a regular there, and soon got to know him on a personal level, you were his number one customer, the one that gave him all the inspiration to make his dishes something to always look forward to

When the day came when he wanted to ask you out on a date, he did it on valentines Day, he baked you a cute heart shaped cake, with the words "Will you be my sweetest valentine?" And you could see just how nervous he was when he gave out this offering, you were curious to see how this would go, so without further hesitation, you said yes

You knew there could have been some trials and tribulations when dating a once unhinged man bent on baking a soul into a tart in order to gain control over the astral plane, but in the end, everyone forgave and forgot and accepted he was a reformed man

During the first years of your relationship, he sometimes expressed how it would have been alright with him if you decided to leave him because of his past mistakes, but every time you reassured him about it, we're the times he fell in love with you more and more, and of course, promised you were the only one for him

He made those words official when he proposed to you on a date out on isle I, granted he had to plan it all out behind your back, learning about your preferences, like where you'd want it to happen, and how.

He almost died when you mentioned the thought of marriage during one of your dates to the movies, he had to admit it was very sudden, you didn't even look at him as you asked "would you ever wanna get married?"

The question made him choke on popcorn for a second, he had to swallow a big gulp of soda before he could answer you, but it gave him the answers he'd need later down the line

It was fairly simple, yet romantic, a nice picnic in a field of flowers, fireflies came out filling the night atmosphere with beautiful lighting, tears were in his eyes when he looked at you so lovingly, and before you could ask what was wrong, he pull out the ring box and ask the four words "Will you marry me?"

* Very romantic, he loves waking you up with breakfast in bed and sweet kisses, however if you're too tired to enjoy breakfast and just wanna cuddle, he's more than happy to do that too

* He could never find it in himself to ever be angry, let alone upset with you, he loves you like you're the only person he's ever known and luckily you rarely (if ever) have any arguments to be upset over, if it does get to a point like that though, he's quick to de-esculate the situation, he doesn't like fighting with you at all

*One of his favorite things to do with you is to bake/cook with you, he loves it when you let him stand behind you and guide your hands through a process you may need help with, like rolling out dough, it gives him an excuse to be so close to you and admire you, while sneaking in a few adoring neck/face kisses, it makes moments like that special to him

* Another thing he loves doing with you is dancing to the radio, you don't have to if you don't want to with him, but when given the chance, like after closing hours in the bakery, he won't hesitate to hold you close to himself, turn up the volume, and just dance around the shop with you, his warm eyes only focused on you as he sways, twirls and tells you just how much he loves you

* If you're having a bad day, go to him about it, he'll come up with all sorts of ways to bring back the smile he loves so dearly, whether it be baking your favorite sweets, cooking your favorite foods, or just venting/crying out your problems while he holds you dearly, know that no matter what, he's there for you and will be there when you need a shoulder to cry on

* He loves using pet names, you can't recall all the ones he's called you, but just know, he will never stop

It was around your second year into your marriage when the idea of a family came up. You and Saltbaker were walking down one part of the sidewalk heading to the grocery store to pick up a few things when you both saw a lovely couple strolling down the opposite side of the road, a little bundle of joy in a stroller presumably asleep or enjoying a bottle, you remember watching the couple continue with their day before you and Chef exchanged a look, knowing exactly what it meant to both of you

A child

You wanted a child to make this family of two, into a family of three, maybe even more

The thought of it made you both blush and hold tight to each other's hands with shy giggles and sweet smiles as you pressed your heads together while walking towards the store, ideas of a little bun in the oven taking over your minds to the point they started to hurt, in a good way however.

Expecting News

When you got news at the doctor's, after a few days of feeling off, you almost just about sprinted to yours and Chef's home to tell him the great news, but you also wanted to surprise him somehow thinking it would be a more memorable way of telling him, not that telling him vocally wouldn't be great either

So when he came back home and noticed you baking in the kitchen, he couldn't help but ask with a smile what you were up to, when he noticed the tray in your hands, he didn't get it at first when he saw the batch of six cookies laying on the counter, two one one side showed what appeared to be chocolate chip and macadamia nut cookies, and on the other side, were two of your own favorite cookies, however..

In between those two types, laid two plain peanut butter cookies with question marks iced on top of them

He stared for a hard minute trying to figure out what he was looking at, but then his eyes widened and he let out a long gasp as he looked up at you, tears rolling down his face as he covered his mouth, shaking his head slightly

You remember how his voice sounded when he asked "My love.. Are you serious? Please do not let this be a joke" his voice quivering, more tears fell as you shook your head, telling him you weren't joking, that alone got him behind the counter, holding you tight as he sobbed into your shoulder and vice versa, it was like this for a good minute before he kneeled down to be at face level with your stomach, the loving smile never left his face as he whispered "I can't wait to meet you when the time is right.. Little one.."

Head canon 2: During your pregnancy

* Unless you ask for space, he's by your side almost all the time, admiring the belly and the woman that was carrying his offspring. The kid he hadn't even met yet but already loved dearly

*He's helping you throughout the whole thing, the morning sickness, the odd cravings, fatigue.. There's nothing he's not willing to put up with to make sure you and the baby get through the pregnancy happy and healthy

* When your belly is really starting to show, he'll leave adoring kisses to your baby, commenting about the small movements and kicks that came with his actions, and he loved it

*He will not hesitate to help with anything soreness you may have throughout the whole thing, you're carrying your kid, the least he can do is help you through all the sore feelings you'd have throughout your body

*And above all, night or day, he loves singing songs to you and the kiddo, if it helps you sleep, he'll do it as much as you want him to, if it helps keep the baby calm, he'd be overjoyed knowing his baby recognizes and loves his voice
