Ma used to grow them in the garden she had made in the backyard, it made the whole neighborhood smell like the dewy flowers. She'd even make perfume for Renee that was unique for just her precious daughter.
Renee held the warm mug of her coffee close to her chest as she sat on the small daybed resting on the beautiful balcony. It was hot outside, the wild sun beating down on her skin as a small amount of perspiration gathered on her body. Her white sundress clung uncomfortably to her body due to the light moisture in the Carolina heat.
