Blake looked at us and said, "You what?!" I repeated myself and said, "We want you to go to the dance." Blake replied, "That's ridiculous." Yang spoke up and said, "Blake, we're worried about you. This investigation is starting to mess with your head." While counting the facts on her fingers, Weiss said, "You can't sleep, you hardly eat, and to be honest, your grades have been suffering." Blake snapped back as she gestured out the window and said, "You think I care about grades? People's lives are at stake!"
Yang put her hand on Blake's, lowering it as she said, "We know, and we're all still trying to figure out what Torchwick is up to." Then I added, "Thanks to you and Sun, we know they're operating somewhere outside of southeast Vale." Weiss spoke next and said, "And, the Schnee company records singled out Vale as the primary target for Dust robberies over the last few months." Yang added, "Don't forget about their missing military tech too." Blake replied and said, "But there's still unanswered questions!" I responded and said, "Blake, you won't be able to find anything if you can't even keep your eyes open!"
The three of us nodded and Yang said, "All we're asking is that you take it easy for one day." Weiss spoke up again and added, "It will be fun! Yang and I will make sure of it." Yang pumped her fists which caused the bed to bounce Blake as Yang said, "Yeah! We're planning the whole event!" Blake replied and said, "Excuse me?" Weiss answered and said, "Team CFVY's away mission lasted longer than expected." Yang continued and said, "So, Weiss and I were asked to pick up where they left off. And now we can make sure you have the perfect night." Weiss finished and said, "And once it's all over, we'll return for our search, rested and ready." The three of us looked at Blake and I said, "So what do ya think?"
Blake just replied and said, "I think this is a colossal waste of time." Blake walked away from us, opened the dorm door, and said, "I'll be in the library." She walked out of the room and Yang said, "Great." Weiss responded and said, "She can't keep going on like this." I sighed and heard my Scroll go off. I pulled it out of my pocket and saw I had a message from Ace. I smiled as I read the message and replied to it.

As I put my Scroll away, there was a knock at the door. Weiss answered it, revealing Jaune with a guitar, as he said, singing, "Weiss!" Weiss slammed the door in his face. He replied through the door and said, "Oh, come on, open the door! I promise not to sing."
Weiss opened the door and Jaune said, singing once more, "I lied! Weiss Schu-nee, will you accompany me, to the dance on... Sunday!?" Weiss looked at him and said, "Are you done?" Jaune shrugged and said, "Yes?" Weiss answered him and said, "No." She shut the door in his face. Turning around, she saw my sister and I staring at her and said, "What?" Both of us were standing precariously as Yang said, "And that is why they call you the Ice Queen." I collapsed onto the bed as Weiss said, "All my life, boys have only cared about the perks of my last name. Besides, I already have a date in mind." I let out a sigh and said, "Date or no date, none of this will matter if we can't get Blake to go." Yang nodded and said, "Speaking of dates, do you know where Ace is taking you tonight?"
I sat up as I shrugged and said, "I don't know. I mean he did ask if I liked spaghetti and said to just wear my usual outfit, but I don't have any other clues besides that." Yang smiled and said, "Well, it sounds like he really has something special for you in mind." I smiled and said, "I know." Weiss spoke and said, "Despite your usual childish behavior, you two really like each other, don't you?" I nodded and said, "Yep."
Later in the afternoon, I heard a knock on the door. I answered it and saw Ace standing there and I said, "Ace! You're here!" He smiled and said, "Hey, Rosebud. You ready to go?" I nodded and said, "Lead the way!" He chuckled and led me to the air docking bays. We took an Airship down to the island of Patch and I followed Ace until we eventually stopped at a house near the main city. Despite the house having siding that was faded and had moss on it, the lawn had been cut and the bushes trimmed.
I looked at Ace and said, "Ace? Whose house is this?" He took a deep breath and said, "It's mine. Before I lost my parents, we lived here for about a year. They left the house to me in their will." I nodded and said, "Ohh. So why are we here?" He smiled and said, "For our date, I was thinking about just making a home-cooked meal for the two of us. If that's alright with you?" I smiled and said, "That sounds wonderful! Thank you!" He smiled warmly and led me inside.
Ace's POV
Once Ruby and I went inside, I went into the kitchen and got to work on cooking the spaghetti noodles. Once the food was done cooking, I put some on both of the two plates I had set out. I took the plates into the dining room and set them on the table. Ruby came over and we both began eating. After a few bites, Ruby said, "Ace, this is delicious! I didn't know you could cook." I scratched the back of my neck and said, "Well, I don't do it too often. Thanks." She smiled and she continued eating.
Once we'd finished eating, I cleared the table and started washing the dishes. At one point, Ruby came over to help, but she slipped on a towel that had fallen on the floor. Luckily for her, I caught her before she could hit the floor. I pulled her back to her feet and said, "You okay?" She nodded and said, "Yeah, thanks." After Ruby helped me finish cleaning the dishes, the two of us sat down on the couch. I looked at her and said, "Hey, Rosebud. Would you go to the dance with me on Sunday?" She smiled and said excitedly, "Yes! Yes! I definitely will!" I kissed her passionately on the lips. Then she said, "Hey, Ace? Can you tell me about how you lost your parents?"
