My feet hit my bedroom floor, cracking the nighttime sores from my body. Hearing a satisfying 'click', I make my way out of bed. Grabbing a robe off of my door I make my way to the kitchen, tightening the robe against me. Glancing around I see no other sign of life, just a note on the fridge saying, 'stay out of trouble, be back in a few days -dad'. Guess he came home in the middle of the night and decided to just leave again. Typical.

Groaning I rip the note off of the fridge and toss it in the trash. Opening the fridge door I grab the orange juice, pouring myself a big cold glass. Placing the jug back in the fridge, I grab my glass and walk to the front window of the house. Peering outside, I see families out and about, going for walks and just having a good time. A kid on a bike throws the daily newspaper on my doorstep before moving on to the next house.

Sipping on the liquid I walk back to my bedroom, picking out an outfit to join everyone else on a nice walk. Since it is a little chilly out today, there will be a jacket involved. Once I was completed with my outfit and all of my orange juice was gone, I was ready for the day. Honestly, I was excited to go out and explore. Plus this is a small town, so I don't think that I will be gone for long. Maybe I will meet new people that can show me all the good spots around town. Meet some friends too.

Exiting the house I head out on my new adventure of exploring my new town. Glancing over at Max's house, I don't see Billys' car in the driveway, guess Max can't accompany me on the walk. Oh well, she is probably making sure Will is okay. Hopefully, she does want to hang out, she seems pretty cool!

Stepping out on the open street I look all around me, taking in all the houses and trees around me. Walking to school I was so focused on just getting there that I never took the time to admire all around me. Like all the flowers that bloomed around the houses across from me.

Moving forward I twist and turned down different paths, not sure where my exact destination is. Heck, I think I don't even know the way home now that I think about it. Moving forward I just enjoy my time outside. Not even sure how long I have even been walking, But I do know it has been for a while now.

Turning down another random road I pass a beautiful house on a little hill. Smiling as I pass it I take in the scenery, that would be a nice house to live in. "Son of a b-" I hear someone shout from the backyard of the house, honestly scaring me a bit. "Guys I have a code red, code red! I need help here! I repeat a code red!"

Stopping dead in my tracks, I feel a set of deja vu. Feels like I came across the same scene as yesterday, this time not with Will. "Hello?" I shout out in the unknown air.

"Yes hello? Is that you Nance? I am in the back," the person shouts out.

"I'm not Nanc-"

"Hurry! For the love of god!"

Picking up my feet I run to the back of the house, unsure of what I was going to find or who I was going to find. Surprisingly I see the curly-haired kid Dustin, the same kid that ran away from me. His shocked face met my surprised one, "(Y/n)?"

"Yeah?" I say.

He was practically holding his weight on a storm shelter, trying to hold something in it. Looking between the door and me he rolls his eyes, "Can you like stop standing over there and help me?"

Hesitantly I walk over to him, before jumping back as a creature flings the right door open. My jaw drops open as I see something that I never even know existed. Dustin yells at me, bringing me back down to the present time. Grabbing the door that was thrown open I attempt to shut it, but the creature was putting up a fight. For being such a small creature it was quite tough, ugly too. Once the door was fully shut I put my weight on it, taking the job from the smaller boy.

Dustin wipes the dirt off of his pants as I now hold the creature in the storm shelter. "What in the world is that Dustin!" I shout, scared out of my mind.

His eyes look down at my left arm, following his gaze I see a long scratch. Seems like the creature was able to scratch me while I was trying to close the door. My jacket was left with a huge hole because of it. "Look," Dustin starts. "I am going to go get Mike, he will get his sister, and then we will solve all this. She knows medical stuff, hopefully."

Dustin runs away from me, leaving me and the creature alone. "Hey!" I shout at the boy. "Don't leave me like this! Oh what's the point, he is already gone."

For two hours Dustin left me alone with the creature. Between the two hours that I was left alone the creature did die down from fighting against the door. Yet I still decided to lean up against the door, just in case.

Hearing Dustin's voice and a car door slam made me shout with glee. My arm was still bleeding and I was getting super lightheaded. Both from blood loss and sitting in the hot sun, maybe even mixed with some boredom. What do you expect, like seriously? I'm doing the kid a favor and he just leaves me to die, awesome.

"Dustin I am going to kill you right now," I mutter out loud, not caring who heard it.

Once the young male turned the corner, an older male accompanied him. Both of them were talking before stopping right at me. "Woah," Dustin starts. "You don't look too good."

"Two hours, you left me for two hours! I'm going to kill you, Dustin."

"Hey now, I got help, that is all that matters. Right?"

"You have a lot of explaining to do right now Dustin, I swear. I'm bleeding all over this stupid door and I'm hot and I don't feel good. My mouth is dry and I am like so bored right now."

The male that was with Dustin kneeled down next to me, pressing his palm on my forehead. He glances back at Dustin, "we need to help her."

"What about Dart?" Dustin asks, earning him a harsh glare from the other male.

The male helps me off of the doors that I have sat on for two hours, guiding me inside where it was away from the sun. Dustin soon follows, whispering under his breath about the creature. Inside I was sat down on the couch and given a glass of water. The male searches around the house before coming back up to me with a first aid kid, quickly going to work.

"The name is Steve, Dustin told me you are new here." the male says as he cleans the wound and I seethe in pain, "(Y/n), right?"

"Yeah, correct. Do you know what that creature is by the way? I have never seen that thing in my life before. Sorry I am just like, all over the place right now and like so confused. Everything is like not making sense and like nothing seems normal here."

Steve glances back at Dustin, unsure of what to do. Once I was patched up his pretty brown eyes met mine, "Welcome to Hawkins I guess."
