Do you ever just feel so stupid, like all you can do is stare at someone?

Right now I'm wondering, What is oxygen?

My hands are over my mouth and I'm staring at Spencer.

I'm paralyzed.

I feel bad because I'm worrying him.

I inhale sharply and my body comes to life when oxygen fills my lungs.

Answer him, dammit!

"Yes." I whisper, nodding. "Yes."

He lets out the breath he was holding and cheers break out around the room. He slips the ring on my hand and pulls me out of my chair, into his arms.

"Oh god, I love you so much." I whisper.

He pulls away and kisses me. People are cheering all over the room. He takes my face in his hands.

"Did you know I was going to ask?"

"No." I say.

"Did you know I've been asking?"

"No."

"Are you being honest?" he asks.

"Yes." he kisses me again.

Everyone starts to freak out, especially Mom.

"My little girl is getting married!" she gasps, hugging me.

****

It was so hard to sit in the restaurant in public. It was harder to go to Mom's the next day and not have sex on their couch. We totally had sex at my house last night though.

It's three days after Christmas and I'm upset because I haven't seen Spencer since Christmas.

I overslept too, and I needed to be to work an hour ago.

Sighing, I throw the covers off me and drag myself to the shower.

I think the water heater went out because the water was ice cold.

Sighing, I suck it up and finish my shower. I brush my hair and teeth and dress in a beige pushup bra, a white tank top, a beige pencil skirt, a red business jacket, and beige heels. I put on a fake gold watch, and I curl my hair. I change purses to match my outfit, and then I leave.

I stop by Starbucks and get a muffin and coffee. I eat it before I go in, and text Spencer.

Me: hi baby :) goodmorning, I love and miss you

I walk into my restaurant. It's packed. Given the bad weather, we're like the only place open. It rained and hailed last night. It wasn't cold enough to snow but it was pretty damn close. The streets are flooded and there were tornados in the area.

Nobody is working because it's till storming.

Since the power is out in most of the city, everyone is trying to find a place to eat.

"I'm sorry I'm late guys." I apologize profusely to everyone working, which is almost ll of my employees, due to how packed we are.

"It's cool." Garret shrugs. He's an employee.

I put my purse in my office and leave my phone in there and get to work after clipping on my nametag. I keep going in my office every five minutes, hoping for a message from Spencer. None come.

After twelve hours of working, I'm stressed and upset because it's nine at night and we're still busy as hell.

I pick up a tray of food for table twelve. They're pissed and have been waiting an hour.
