CHAPTER SIXTEEN

AS LYRA LAYED STRETCHED OUT on the couch, her body relaxed and her mind drifting into a state of tranquility, she found comfort in the presence of her dear friend Daphne. Resting her head gently on Daphne's leg, she could feel the soothing warmth radiating from her companion's body, enveloping her in a sense of security. She always knew to find comfort in her friend, with a serene smile Daphne's fingers gently brushing through Lyras hair sent delicate shivers down her spine, calming her thoughts and bringing a content smile to her soft plump lips.

She couldn't help but notice a shift in Daphne's demeanor. Daphne's expression became more somber, her eyes filled with a mix of empathy and curiosity. "I haven't gotten to ask but how are you dealing with everything about your fathers escape."

The atmosphere changed when Lyra's thoughts settled on her father's escape from Azkaban, she had known that this topic would've resurfaced again. It was a topic that had circulated within the wizarding community, leaving few untouched by its implications, Feeling a mix of vulnerability and trust in her friendship with Daphne, she allowed her self to speak up.

"Yeah everything seems to be fine you know. But the fact that his actions are causing me more problems than ever before. Like it was nothing before y'know, because then they saw me as a "mass murders daughter" but now it's "the mass murder who escaped Azkaban  daughter and is trying to killing everyone especially Harry Potter," she rushed out quickly. Taking a breath she continued "it's just gets mentally draining having to stand up for myself and not make it seem like it's effecting me,"

Daphne nodded, her form of understanding the situation that was occurring. "You can't let those tits get to you,"

"I won't," she sighs out.  "Look I've still got detention for causing a hail storm in the gryfinddor room,"  she got up from her comfortable position and dusted her robe.

"Keep your head up," said Daphne trying to encourage Vera as much as possible.

  "Will do,"

  "Lyra,"

  "Yeah,"

"Don't be hard in yourself You're doing your best in a situation that would challenge anyone. Take each day as it comes, and lean on us when you need to."

Lyra nodded, a sense of relief washing over her. With Daphne's support, she felt more grounded, ready to face whatever challenges lay ahead. After breakfast Lyra and Daphne headed towards Charms to take the exam with Ravenclaws which she didn't mind they were alright. Nothing special with them but that's the only house Slytherin had gotten well with. Professor Flickwick tested on numerous amounts of charms like the cheering charm which Lyra had done hers over the top resulting in a slight disappointment look from the professor, she usually excelled at this subject but due to her constant thinking Sirius Black her performance was not as impressive.

The sky was an endless sheet of grey, a fitting backdrop for the looming end of the year and the exams that seemed to stretch forever. The air was thick with a kind of foreboding, the kind Lyra relished. Defense Against the Dark Arts-her third-to-last exam-was this afternoon, and Professor Lupin had decided to hold it outside. That meant sunshine and fresh air, two things Lyra could live without.

"Outside in the sun," she muttered bitterly to Draco as they exited the castle. "Lupin's just trying to make everyone feel better about failing miserably. It's cruel, really."
