Damian POV
When I had gotten Leah's text I had been worried, it wasn't like her to just take off early. She always worked to the last minute sometimes working late so I knew straight away that something was wrong.
Before I left the arena I had grabbed my entrance coat to take with me, maybe that would cheer her up. I approach the door of our hotel room and take a breath before unlocking the door and pushing it open.
When I walk in I find her on the bed curled around a hot water bottle gently sobbing. I place my stuff down and walk over to her crouching by the bed.
"Firefly....baby what's wrong?" I ask as I move her hair out of her face and that's when I see the bruise on her cheek "What happened?" I ask immediately worried
"It hurts" she sobs "it hurts so bad"
"Where does it hurt baby?" I ask and she places her hand on her stomach "is it your monthly visit?" I ask and she shakes her head
"D somethings wrong" she says softly
"Ok I'm taking you to the hospital" I say gently lifting her up in my arms
"D" she says as I walk towards the door
"It's alright I won't leave your side I promise" I soothe
"No D it's....."
"You can explain everything later" I say kissing her forehead "right now all I care about is making sure you're alright"
I carry her to the car and place her gently in the passenger seat. Scared didn't even begin to cover how I was feeling, I couldn't stand seeing her in so much pain, and I felt useless that I couldn't do anything to help the woman I love.
As I drive I hold on to her hand rubbing gently circles on it with my thumb, all the while thinking that I can't bear to lose her, I can't function without her, I'm nothing without her love
When we arrive at the hospital I park in the first space I find and lift her out of the car, I walk into the ER with her in my arms.
"Please.....my wife needs help" I plead "she's in a lot of pain and we don't know what's wrong"
"Bring her this way" a nurse says and I follow her to a cubicle, I place her down on the bed but stay right by her side
"Ok where's the pain?" The nurse asks
"Her stomach" I say "she told me it was her stomach"
"Right I have to ask, is there any chance you are due your period?" She asks and Leah shakes her head
"Right I'm going to take some blood and I think we should do a scan just to be on the safe side" she says "do you have any idea what caused this?" She asks
Leah POV
"I fell, I hit a table" I say quietly and I can feel Damian's eyes on me
The nurse takes some blood and then leaves to see if there is scan room free, I turn over to look at my husband and his face tells me all I need to know
"I hope your not expecting me to believe you fell" he says "we don't have to talk about it now but you can tell me who did this later, though I don't think I need to ask"
"D I don't want you to get in any trouble" I say "please just drop it"
"Some one has hurt my wife, my love, to the point that I've had to bring you here I can't just let that go baby" he says "I'm sorry I wasn't there to protect you, that's my job and I let you down"
"You have not let me down" I say reaching for his hand
"Ok time to go for that scan" the nurse says "do you want to come with her Mr........"
"Priest, it's Priest and yes I'm coming with her" he says standing from his chair
Damian walks beside me all the way to the scan room, he sits beside me as the nurse puts the gel on my stomach and gently strokes my hand.
"Ok so the purpose of this is to make sure there isn't an internal bleed" she says "so far everything looks OK, there's no bleed and.......oh erm Mrs Priest did you know you were pregnant?" She asks as I stare at the screen
"N...no I didn't" I say "is the baby alright?"
"Baby is just fine" she says "I'd say you're about 8 weeks"
When I look at Damian he has his eyes fixed on the screen, a beautiful smile on his face and tears in his eyes
"That's really our baby?" He asks "and it's fine?"
"Yes that's your baby, and they are absolutely fine" she smiles "going by this I'd say you have sustained some severe bruising but no damage, I'll give you a moment alone"
The nurse leaves us and I keep my gaze on Damian while his is on the screen.
"D are you ok with this?" I ask nervously
"Firefly I couldn't be happier" he smiles "we're having a baby, I was actually going to speak to you tonight about having kids"
"You were?" I ask and he nods "I'm so glad the baby is alright"
"Yeah me too" he says "but I'm going to need you to tell me who did this becuase they didn't just hurt you, they could of made you lose our baby and that I won't let slide"
"D....."
"Just tell me was it Dolph?" He asks and I nod "Did he hit you?"
"No he shoved me and I hit a table stomach first, my face hit it after" I say "please don't get yourself in any trouble"
"Oh I won't" he says "but he will"
