Most of the time I feel like
I'm out of place-
I'm a soul who was delayed at customs in the celestial realm,
Causing me to show up decades before
And/or after
I would have peaked.
Technology confuses me, gives me crushing anxiety, and I long for simplicity. A way to disconnect.
But then I remember
How it felt
When I watched that video of the two of us talking
And realized that we were in love.
Because truthfully,
I don't know much,
But I know that when you look at me in that video,
And your face breaks into a smile that melts the ice around my anachronistic heart,
Before you remember you're being recorded and try to empty your face of all feeling -
That's what love looks like.
