26. Sautéed Shredded Potato

Pouring some oil he had extracted earlier in the pan, Yu Jinli threw in all the potatoes he had cut when the oil became hot.

The moment the potatoes touched the pan, it let out another spattering sound which startled the three cooks again. They thought they had had enough thrill for one day that their pounding hearts were about to get out of their bodies in objection.

However, none of them planned to leave for the Young Lady’s cooking was so special that they had never seen anyone cook without putting water in first.

Potatoes and oil smelled perfectly together which surprisingly... stimulated their appetite and made their mouths water.

Since there wasn't vinegar, in order not to overcook, Yu Jinli took out the potatoes after sautéing them for a while.

The three cooks, rubbed their troubled noses with their eyes fixed on the potato. They all wanted to try this specially-cooked potato but none dared to.

After all, Young Lady made it for the marshal and lady. As cooks, they didn’t have a chance to try it.

But they really wanted to, even only one piece of it. Its smell was killing them.

It was a surprise that the frail-looking Young Lady would be so good at cooking. Even though they hadn't tasted it, they were sure it was good just judging from its smell.
