chapter 13: a couple of days at the beach?

As days past, they spend mornings practicing and afternoons eating, socializing and resting. That is until Tendou got extremely bored with Ushijima. Both of them talked about it for a long couple of days and preparing a surprise for their bands, before proposing the idea to them. 

It was a Thursday morning, 8am, the sun was shining through the windows that where open in some rooms, making their shared rooms colder for some, for others not. Tendou had woken up three hours earlier to make breakfast, and wash everyone's clothes as a surprise to try to convince the others of going with him and his boyfriend, Ushijima, to the beach. 

Ushijima had woken up an hour earlier, at 7 am, and decided to help Tendou with the cooking, since he was missing from the bed, which made Ushijima, the big green haired boy, feel lonely for some reason.

Was it that he had emotionally attached himself so much to the red-haired boy that he no longer felt complete without him? Was it that he knew they wouldn't last forever, was it that he never felt this way with anyone before? he couldn't truly explain it, yet he didn't really care what the reason was, he just wanted to know how to make this horrid feeling go away. 

Tendou had woken up to the delightful smell of scrambled eggs and bacon cooking on the stove, whilst Ushijima was trying to make cupcakes...

That is when Tendou remembered Ushijima doesn't know how to bake! Tendou immediately ran towards the brown-haired boy, getting him as far away from the oven as possible, turning it off, as he had pre heated the oven to an exceedingly hot temperature, that could at any time overheated the oven and explode. 

Of course, Ushijima had not yet realized his mistake, so got mad at the shorter male for getting him away from the oven, thus the eggs at the same time, and causing them to burn with an unpleasant smell. Tendou smacked Ushijima's head with the wooden spoon he had in his left hand and punched him lightly with his right. The soft punches and yells where part of Ushijima's morning routine at this point, yet he loved it. The playfight was what warmed Ushijima's cold heart in the morning, with the burned cooking. 

After about an hour, and getting rid of the burned food, they baked chocolate cupcakes and banana ones, because Kiyomi and Iwaizumi didn't like chocolate an they were the biggest cupcake eaters they knew. This also meant more cupcakes for them. 

The other boys woke up and got ready, by 9pm, they were all ready to leave the appartement and do something. But what? That was the question. After a couple of seconds of contemplating on what they felt like doing, Oikawa received a call from Daisho asking the boys if the wanted to join them (Daisho and Terushima) at the beach, and spend a couple of days with them. Being as bored as they were, they all agreed immediately, getting into the single car they had. Iwaizumi was driving and Oikawa was next to him, at the back were Atsumu sitting on Sakusa's lap and Tendou sitting next to his boyfriend, Ushijima. 

After a lengthy two hour drive, the found the other car the had rented with Daisho and Terushima waiting next to it having reserved a parking space. The boys parked the car and got out. After a while of catching up and changing into their swimwear and putting on their sunscreen, they jumped into the warm water and spend hours either in the water or outside of it on the sand under the three umbrella's they had. 

Atsumu and Sakusa were charged with the task of going into town and buying food for the boys as it was almost lunchtime. Iwaizumi and Oikawa were in charge of finding an appartement or house for them to stay at for the night while Daisho and Terushima were in charge of drinks. Tendou and Ushijima were in charge of guarding the umbrella's, not that anyone would steal them, but they wanted to stay and used this as their excuse. 

With Atsumu and Sakusa: the couple took the car with Daisho and Terushima at the back and drove to the center of the city. They found a relatively good parking space and left the car in front of the food shop they had found. The boys then split up into two groups in the shop and went their seperate ways. 

"So what should we buys Omi~Omi?" Atsumu said happily as he was about to eat some food finally, after waiting for hours. 

"I'm not sure, but something easy to take with us would be nice, such as onigiri or instant ramen?" He said unsure of himself.

"Yeah, i guess that makes sense, so how about some Katsu curry? They make some fresh here, we can simply take a portion for each of us and go" He replied with.

"That seems logical, should we take some desert?" He asked his boyfriend. Atsumu agreed without a second to spear. He knew what he wanted immediately. The only right answer would be either some mitarashi dango or some daifuku. He decided to go with the mitarashi dango as they looked much better in quality than the daifuku. 

After the short wait il line at the self-scanning machines, in order to pay for the food, they went to the car and waited for the two other boys to join them. 

With Daisho and Terushima, things went wildly different. Daisho had the brilliant idea to buy some alcohol. Some is a BIG understatement, the had more then 40 bottles of beer (so approximately 4,5 per person) and 8 bottles of liquor and other strong alcohol they could find. Terushima was 100 percent on board with the idea his boyfriend had as the days were getting progressively more boring and he wanted to spice things up. 

After 10 minutes, they joined the other boys that were waiting in the car. Atsumu and Sakusa didn't realize what the other boys had bought until they heard beer bottles clinging and making noise when the were being transported to the trunk of the car. That is when they turned around, unable to say a word. 

"WHAT??? WHY DID YOU GUYS BUY SO MUCH ALCOHOL???!!!" Atsumu said almost yelling upon seeing the enormous quantities of alcohol. 

"Oh this? don't worry about this, it's to make things fun! come on, a couple of beers won't kill us." Daisho said whilst putting the last bottle of strong alcohol in the trunk. 

"..." Both Atsumu and Sakusa were left speechless.  

After approximatively a 25 minute drive, from the city center back to the beach, they unloaded some half of the alcohol and the lunches. All for boys who had stayed on the beach were shocked by Daisho and Terushima's boldness. 

Usually they were the parents of the group controlling everything an making sure things went according to plan, but now they were acting like the opposite, reckless and fearless. 

"Are we going to ignore the fact that there is enough alcohol here to get us drunk?!" Iwaizumi said not knowing what else to say. 

"There is much more in the trunk Iwaizumi..." Said Sakusa to his friend. 

"So do you plan on getting drunk and leaving us here??" Then said Tendou as he had little to no understanding of the situation. 

"What?! you guys are so dramatic, no one is leaving anyone and we are not going anywhere. We just thought that we might as well have some fun as we are on holidays basically!"

The boys the agreed that it didn't seem so bad after all, and for once, they would do whatever they wanted. Letting go of all of their problems for one day !
