Chapter 19 - The Blue Masked Man

A/N: AAAAAAAAHHHHHHH I'm finally back! Seriously, I've never felt 9 days this long! I really enjoyed my vacation, but now I'm really starting to feel how much writing means to me... I had so much inspiration and I was in the mood but I can't just start writing fanfics in the middle of my family vacation...

ANYWAYS, your girl also had her first day at work today where luckily my "boss" - aka the woman I'm the assistant of - already noticed my computer skills, so looks like I can get most of the office work instead of packing hella heavy orders (btw I packed 9 damn packages to France as my first thing I had to do there, which also reminded me of this book).

Okay, I'll shut up for now. Welcome back, everyone, and welcome, new readers! Let's continue our story!

'The firework starts now!' shouted the loud boy by the door a few seconds after the sword dance ended. It made everyone look up towards the huge windows where they could see the fireworks displayed on the sky.

'Waaahhh, how pretty!' gasped Kai, hugging Yeonjun and Soobin with his two arms. The two oldests were standing on the maknae's two sides, not even daring to look at each other. Kai sighed and pouted as he patted their shoulders and decided to join Taehyun instead. Even though he loved discussing other people's love lives, he decided to stay out of Yeonjun's and Soobin's.

'How are things?' he asked Taehyun, startling the older.

'Oh, Kai' he gasped. 'Everything's fine so far. But what do you guys know that I don't?' he whispered.

'The blue masked man' gestured Kai at the man who was standing nearby with his hand on his sword. Tae followed his gaze. 'He has the real sword' said Kai.

'He seems familiar' squinted his eyes Tae.

'Because-'

'Oh shit!' gasped Taehyun. The man meanwhile slowly got closer to the prince and was about to pull out the blade from the sheath. As he grabbed the sword, Tae was quick to jump there surprising the other man, and with an unexpected kick he knocked out the sword of the man's hand and grabbed it.

They suddenly gained everyone's attention, but unfortunately people didn't see what happened, just how Tae was standing there with a sword in his hand. The blue masked man quickly used the situation to his own advantage.

'He has a real sword! Get him, guards!' he shouted. Tae gasped and threw the sword away. By this time, guests started running out from the ballroom while one of Philippe's people quickly grabbed Prince Beomgyu to take him to a safe place - which is anywhere away from Taehyun.

'What the hell?' gasped Yeonjun. The four of them were suddenly surrounded by Philippe's guards and there was no one else in the room. They even lost sight of the blue masked man. 'We can't just let them get away with that!'

Yeonjun grabbed something from the inner pocket of his suit. It seemed to be a perfume bottle, but as soon as he sprayed its content in the guards' faces, they quickly realized that it wasn't perfume. It was pepper spray.

'Aaah!' the guards shouted as they tried to get rid of the spray in their eyes, but with no use yet. This gave time for the four boys to get rid of the other guards behind them.

Beomgyu was shoved through a secret door in the wall by one of the guards. He didn't even have time to be surprised by the fact that the wall just randomly disappeared.

'Hey, let me out!' he shouted after the door was shut behind him. He started hitting and kicking the wall but with no use. As he turned around, he almost screamed when he was faced with a man who was wearing a mask that was the shape of some animal. It was dark, the corridor was only lit by a few torches, so he could only see the shadow of him.

'Who are you?' he asked on a shaky voice. The man slowly removed his mask. Beomgyu let out a relieved sigh and a chuckle.

'Philippe, you scared the shit out of me! What are you doing here? Weren't you supposed to travel home?'

'I had to turn back. I heard that there's a conspiracy and I couldn't just leave' explained Philippe while playing with the mask in his hands.

'Where are we now? What's this place?' asked Beomgyu looking around.

'This is a secret corridor to protect the royal family. It was built a long time ago. Come with me' said Philippe and gestured towards one of the corridors. Beomgyu followed him.

Taehyun found himself standing on the staircase, facing three men with swords in their hands. He pulled out the sword from his boots and quickly unarmed one of them so he can fight the other two with two blades, just like how he saw on his first day in the musketeers' performance.

'Three against one? You call that fair play?' he scoffed with a playful grin, then suddenly jumped over the railing of the staircase, landing on the ground without losing balance even for a second.

'Hey!' shouted Yeonjun at the guard standing near him. The guy raised his sword against the boy, but he just talked again. 'Your shoelaces untied' he said. The other man looked down out of instinct, realizing that his boots don't even have laces, but it was already late for him. Yeonjun swung his ribbons which scrolled around the man's boots and with a tug he pulled the other's legs from under him, making him hit the ground hard.

Meanwhile Kai was hitting another guy in the face with his fans rather unprofessionally but effectively because he dared to mention that he fights like a girl. The guy was already on the floor with Kai's knee in his back.

'Thank you for the compliment, by the way. I learned a lot from my sisters' he giggled.

'Where's Soobin?' gasped for air Yeonjun while kicking a guard in the stomach.

'Here' shouted back Soobin. He was standing on one of the tables with four guards surrounding him. He kicked a plate that had some cake on it. The plate hit a man in the face. He repeated the same method with other plates, making a huge mess. Well, at least the guards were down.

'Where do all these guards come from?' wondered Kai as the four of them were slowly backed into a wall by the men.

'Where's Beomgyu?' asked Tae while holding out his sword.

'I don't know!' screeched his dolphin screech Kai standing next to him.

'Weren't you supposed to keep an eye on him?' asked Yeonjun from Tae.

'Sorry, I got distracted' huffed Taehyun. Then he caught a glimpse of a gold-blue mask on the floor next to the wall. 'Our secret door!' he gasped.

'Let's go!' said Soobin. Yeonjun grabbed his pepper spray again. He was ready to attack.

A/N 2.0: I'm sorry. First, because the fight scene is too long so I had to write it through several chapters. Second, because I suck at writing fight scenes, and third, because I'll get back to updating only on every nth day, because after today I realized that I won't be able to update every day while also having work. It's only 9 pm here but I'm so tired, I made so many typos and I can't even write normally by now. Despite this, I really missed writing and I'm glad to be back!
