(Nora's Point of View)

It's Friday morning and it's about 11:45 AM and it's been a week since our band The Loyal put out our first original song to the world. Until last week we have been a cover band which means we don't write original must but we make covers of popular songs like Feel it Still by Portugal. The Man and Sweet Caroline by Neil Diamond and though our covers we have grown quite the local following here in Oceanside. In fact there is a small stage in the bar and Billy let's us play here every Friday night at 19:00 PM for half an hour while on shift and slowly the number of people who come to our Friday night gigs have increased and in the last few months we have had a packed bar for our Friday night shows which has been incredible. This huge recent increase in turnout has been great because I was kind of getting worried that Billy was going to stop allowing us to play here on Fridays as I know he wasn't super on board for it because it takes away half of his staff as Toby, Cass, and I work on Friday nights but are also in the band so for an half an hour each week we're not really working but he has been paying us and everyone else is doing double the work. However, over the past few months we have increased our Friday night revenue by close to 5x which has made Billy a happy man and starting about a month or so ago he gave us an entire hour instead of just 30 minutes so we now get to perform every Friday from 19:00-20:00 PM. I am excited for tonights show because for the first time ever we will get to play our new original song Blue Side of the Sky. Prior to this song we had written a lot of songs together as a band but we just never had any that we felt like were good enough until Blue Side of the Sky. Honestly Cassie wrote most of the song, but as a band we put the final touches on it and layered in the instruments. I just got into my car because I really want a latte from Starbucks and it's payday today so I have decided to treat myself. Once I am in my car and buckled I turn on my car, roll down the windows, and I turn on the radio to 93.3 which is my favorite station to listen to especially on Fridays because you get to hear all of the new songs that have just dropped as Friday is the industry standard for leasing new music. I am about 5 minutes from Starbucks when the radio host says "happy Friday San Diego, before we kick off the top new songs of this week presented by Billboard I have a special treat for all you listeners out there. We received a handful of tweets and call-ins this week requesting a specific song. We had never heard of this song or this group but when we went to check it out we were blow away at how good it was, but what makes this song even more special is it's that is from a group that is local to San Diego. Without further ado the next song we are going to play for you is called Blue Side of the Sky, which is a song written, recorded, and produced by San Diego's own The Loyal." I let out a scream of happiness as soon as I hear our song come on because never in my wildest dreams did I think that our song would be on the freaking radio. Holy crap, I am so excited I don't know what to do. I decide to pull into a parking lot because I am too excited to be driving a car right now. Once I am parked I pull out my phone and I quickly call Cassie. Moments later she picks up:

CS: Hey Nora, what's up?

Me: Just listen Cass

I then put my phone on speaker so she can hear what I'm hearing on the radio

I've lost count again, too many living thoughts
They keep whispering, but no one will ever know
Tell me a thousand times, I'm betting on false hope
But I swear I'm gonna find it
