Mikasa had not heard Annie's warning; An odd feeling had come over her and drove her to run to the nearest alleyway, where, quite miserably, she barfed. The vomit filled her mouth with a foul, terrible taste while it poured out of her, droplets splashing onto her skirts. Quickly, she removed her scarf so it would not get any of the bile on it.

Needless to say, puking in an alleyway was most unfortunate.

Once she got it all out of her system, Mikasa was reduced to a sweating mess. She spat on the ground several times in a vain attempt to get the taste out of her mouth, wiped her lips and picked herself up. The only thing to do now was head home.

And so she did. Upon arrival (which took some time for it was a long distance and she still felt sickly), Mikasa washed her mouth and teeth thoroughly and swallowed down a decent amount of lukewarm water. Following this, she drew herself a warm bath.

Ackerman placed her scarf carefully on her bed, undressed and slipped into the tub. It was tucked in a small space between a corner and another wall, the entrance covered by a drawn curtain.

"I rarely get sick in the summer," she said aloud. No one was there to hear or answer, anyways. "Probably just caught a bug. It's making me so sleepy..."

Mikasa soaked in the water til the point where its warmth was starting to wear off, she was wrinkled like a dried raisin and practically falling asleep. She got out of the bath, and lazily dried herself off by patting her body with a towel. She pulled a nightdress over her head, hair still sopping wet and water dribbling uncomfortably down her back.

Noon hadn't even passed, but Mikasa had a mind that she would go to sleep, and so she slipped under the covers, her scarf hugged to her chest.

As her eyes closed, the thought crossed her mind that she was late this month. 'Probably this cold that's doing it. It's pretty annoying...'

It was definitely not the fault of her so-called cold, but Mikasa would not realize the true reason for another little while...
