Elves, you think to yourself as you eye the beings up above from the trap you were in, especially the one with the red scarf over his eye.
You weren't sure how to feel right now; on one hand you were relieved you didn't have to worry about the nekkers chasing you anymore, but on the other, you didn't think you would fare much better with this group of elves who looked like they were planning on turning you into a pin cushion at any moment. That may very well be the case if the red scarf elf, assuming he is indeed the leader, gave the word. You try moving your left foot, which was still possible, but it was incredibly painful on account that you land on your ankle when you fell down this hole.
"Answer the question, d'hoine!" the elf shouts again.
You were pulled from your thoughts and looked up again to see the angry elf narrow his gaze at you. "I'm sorry," you say with slight sarcasm, "I wasn't aware this was YOUR forest, I didn't any signs saying anything of the sort." "I'd watch your tone if I were you," the elf retorts, "I am commander of the Scoia'tel. All I need is to say the word, and you would soon resemble a pin cushion."
Some of the elves point their arrows at you for emphasis. You look down, not knowing what else to do. You were alone, you had no one to come save you this time around (even though you didn't really need that before, it was still nice that someone actually cared enough to do that), and as a certain prickly witcher said you had wondered aimlessly into a nest of nekkers.
You were in pain, trapped in a hole, surrounded by angry elves that were fixing to kill you, and to top it all off you did the one thing Lambert said would happen.
In this moment, the words the witcher said came back to haunt you, about being stupid and naive, and not being able to survive in this world without him.Tears welled up in your eyes again, and you started crying.
The elves were looking at you, feeling rather confused the moment you started crying. The leader, Iorveth, was a shocked by this reaction. Sure some of the humans he's killed before you have shed tears as they met their deaths, but they've done so looking him in the eye right before he'd slit there throats.
You on the other hadn't seem to acknowledge that your life was in his hands and the hands of his men. Hell, you haven't even seem to recognize him. Every human and non-human in this part of the world knew of Iorveth the Woodland Fox. Commander of the Scoia'tel, hunter and hater of humans, terrorist or liberator (depending on who you ask), a man whom up to this point has thought he's seen everything in his centuries of life.
"Go ahead, kill me," he hears your voice break through his thoughts, "I just wanted to go home, that's all I wanted. But that's not going to happen anytime soon, especially since I'm all alone now. I tried going it on my own, and I ran into a bunch of monster not more then ten minutes after I ran off. I really am just a stupid naive girl who fell into this world. I wouldn't have survived at all if it weren't for the witchers."
The elves exchanged looks, some of them looking to Iorveth hoping he would make sense of this and giving them orders.
The aforementioned elf commander looked at you, features softening a bit but not by much. At the mention of the witchers, he wondered if you made an acquaintance with a certain white haired wolf he encountered back in this area.
If this had been a time before the disaster that was Loc Muinne and meeting Saskia, he would've given the order to have you killed right where you stood in the pit and not even bat an eye about it.
Although, the Loc Muinne events did no mean he was any less nihilistic or cynical, nor did his low opinions of humans really changed much. If anything, his opinions have actually gone lower if that was even possible. However, the fact that you welcomed death at his men's hands, and having mentioned you 'fell' into this world, he was internally intrigued and wished to know more. Maybe this was the same person vaguely mentioned by a friend he knew years ago.
