A While

It took a while to realize,
how much he knew me.

How much knowledge my presence held,
without stalking me.

Somehow it felt good to be noticed by someone like him,
someone that could match the generosity of angels,
yet matches the mood of demons.

We were dancing in a pit of fire,
and never did we step on a single flame.

Somehow he guided me through each crevice,
his foot burned but not mine,
he made sure each step was safe.

He valued my presence,
he valued me.

The man I thought was an enemy,
the one person that I never thought would ache.

Let alone stare in my direction.

His stupid face with his sharp jaw,
tidy suit,
and big boy manners.

Everything seemed perfect,
everything about him seemed well-mannered.

It made me furious,
for he can attract so much attention,
without batting an eyelash as his eyes were cerulean.

The color of deep oceans,
it felt like drowning in them.

I had never seen compelling eyes
as if he was medusa and made you freeze.

I could feel his presence rap around me,
I could smell his cologne.

It was my favorite scent of chocolate,
and vanilla cream.

All of a sudden it never ran out,
that stood in between us,
not a demon that I could hate.

There stood a man that changed my fate,
made me better,
and made me look at the world with more hope than ever.

I stood there going as his cheeks stretch from ear to ear.

He was too good to me,
I could only wish for my pride to cease,
for when he loves me,
everything that has value seems to increase.
