What did you do to deserve this?

You were born with it. There was nothing you could do about it.

"Scara!" you yelled as you ran towards him as you trudged through the white blanket of snow covering the trees, ground, and houses.

"What?" The indigo-eyed male replied displaying an apathetic look on his face.

"Where have you been? Do you know how long I've been looking for you?" you asked with an annoyed expression.

"You should have known I would have been here." the ravenette replied nonchalantly

You rolled your eyes at his reply as you turned your eyes to face the scenery before you, the setting sun, the yellowish-orange afternoon, the gold rays of the sun hitting your porcelain skin, snow-covered mountains, deep and dark forests, blooming sakura blossoms of different hues filling the atmosphere. The smell of damp pine trees made the air feel fresh and clean.

"The view is so nice today," you whispered.

Scaramouche nodded silently, enjoying this moment; Snezhnaya was known for its beauty, especially the outskirts of Snezhnaya.

"Why'd you come here anyways?" Scaramouche queried

"I hadn't seen you since morning, who wouldn't be worried dummy?" you answered with a slight hint of sneering.

"Whatever, let's go back to the village" Scaramouche replied with a deadpan expression.

"Okey dokey" you answered as he led the way back to your snowy village.

You and Scaramouche had been friends since childhood, ever since your parents had moved to Morepesok, your village.

Scaramouche was abandoned as a kid, he had no parents so the villagers of Morepesok took him in as their own childe child.

Ever since you moved there, Scaramouche had become great a friend of yours. Maybe you may have felt something more than just friends growing up, but you never told anyone because you were scared of what others would think.

Upon reaching the village, both of you bid farewells and went back to your hut.

You went to your room, and as you lay on your bed you were suddenly stricken by a coughing fit, followed by what you thought felt like vomit rising within your throat. You barely had enough time to make it to the bathroom, and when you got there, you coughed up ten blood-coloured white petals.

You were in turmoil, your head was spinning, and you didn't know what to do.

You quickly picked up the ten blood-coloured white petals and put them in an empty jar, you hid them in one of your beige-coloured chest drawers.

You were shocked but not scared you weren't exactly sure what was happening to you. But you had faith that nothing like this would happen again.

A week later, you were proven wrong.

As you were getting ready to go to the forest with Scaramouche, you were in the bathroom when you felt something uncomfortable in your throat

As you were getting ready to go to the forest with Scaramouche, you were in the bathroom when you felt something uncomfortable in your throat. You coughed out a surprising number of petals, it felt like ages before you could stop.

This time though; you were terrified, you didn't know what would happen to you.

As you cleaned yourself and stored the petals in the jar, you felt anxious and worthless because you thought of everything bad that could happen, and most importantly what would Scaramouche and your parents feel.

All you wanted to do at this moment was to die, you didn't know how long this could go on, or how long you would have to hide it from Scaramouche and your parents.

After you got yourself cleaned up, you went to hang out in the forest, you were quite early though, as Scaramouche didn't show up yet.

You were sitting by the ocean, and the ocean waves were as peaceful as ever, the sakura blossoms floating and landing on the ground, you felt sad at that scene, you imagined yourself lying there, with a trillion petals all around you.

While you were lost in your thoughts, you were interrupted.

"Hey," an aloof voice said.

You quickly wiped away the tears that had started flowing from your eyes and turned to face the ravenette.

"Oh, hey," you said trying to muster up a smile. "I didn't see you there. How are you? "I didn't see you there."

"Hm, I'm fine, what about you?" the male asked.

"I-I'm good," you said with a forced smile, knowing that you're anything but okay.

"Are you okay? You seem ill, and you're pale."

You replied quickly "O-of course I am, why wouldn't I be?"

"Mmm," the indigo-eyed male responded softly.

You stared out at the sparkling, blue ocean and contemplated your fate at the end.

Is there anything on your mind?" questioned Scaramouche?

You broke away from your thoughts and said, "I was just thinking about how everyone's life would be different if I wasn't in it."

He looked at you with a perplexed look and asked "Why the fuck are you talking about such depressing things y/n?"

"Just thinking," you said with a scoff as you rolled your eyes.

You caressed the ring Scaramouche had given you on your 15th birthday, you were now 17.

All of a sudden, you felt lightheaded, your head was spinning, you felt like throwing up, no, no, no, not right now, not right in front of Scaramouche, but you could do nothing about it, you suddenly started coughing up petals.

Scaramouche, seeing you cough up petals, was startled and immediately dropped to his knees to try and help you. He was trying to help you desperately, but all his help was in vain.

It was only a matter of time before you died young, and you were only seventeen.

"Y/N TALK TO ME DAMMIT, ARE YOU FUCKING OKAY?" NO, Scaramouche shouted out of his lungs.

You knew what would happen soon. It was the end.

"You can't fucking die on me, you promised!" yelled Scaramouche, with a few tears slipping out of his eyes.

But everything around you was blurry, you couldn't hear or see anything properly.

As you lost control of your breathing, you kept three sentences in your mind.

No more pain.

No more suffering.

Just peace.

In acceptance of your fate, you leaned across a sakura blossom tree and closed your eyes; the last three words you said to Scaramouche were three words he would never forget in his entire lifetime.

"I love you."
