Fellow Labelmate CL Praises BLACKPINK's Sabine for Calling YG Out on Not Crediting Her for participation on BLACKPINK's Debut Song

BLACKPINK's Sabine may have just debuted, but this isn't the first nor second time she's been in the spotlight for criticizing her company and it's not the first fellow labelmate CL has spoke out in support of her. On August 30, Sabine went live and brought to fans attention that while she participated in producing and writing many parts of BLACKPINK's debut song Boombayah, she received zero credit for it. She stated:
❝...I wrote Jennie's parts, my own and Lisa's and produced the middle and end of the song but I didn't get any credit, when I was specifically promised I would. I've never been super confident in my songwriting and producing abilities, Boombayah was the first project I was super proud of and it's just really disappointing. I'm not trying to place blame but I don't deserve that kind of treatment. ❞
Fans and fellow label mates alike were outraged, specifically former 2NE1 member CL, who not only stepped up to defend Sabine but also praised her for for speaking out.
❝ What Sabine did and how she did it was absolutely justified, she absolutely should've been credited for it. I know her insecurities with her songwriting and producing skills and when she came to me with Boombayah's finished product she was practically beaming, hell I was beaming and so proud of her. She didn't deserve any of that and I applaud her for standing up for herself and I sincerely hope this doesn't derail how she feels about her own skills because she absolutely dominated Boombayah, Sabine deserves better. ❞
As of this post, YG Entertainment hasn't responded, but we stand with Sabine and hope this gets fixed. We will update you when we know further.
