Within the closed door of hospital room 426 was the married couple holding a bundle; within the bundle was a newborn child. The child was looking up to her mother and father with new wonders in her little brown eyes, she had just been born not even two hours ago. Jennie Kim-Manoban looked to her wife of seven years, Broadway's baby Lalisa Kim-Manoban, with teary eyes. The little girl was nearly 7 pounds which had shocked her mother but even more her father because their two older children were just barely eight. The other surprising thing was Lia had been born in the late morning, the couple's first child, Lucy, had been born just after midnight and their second child, Luca, was born in the early, early morning. Lia was the Manoban's final child and Lisa couldn't be more proud of her wife for delivering all three of their beautiful children naturally even when the more simple answer was to have them via C-Section. Lisa looked down into Jennie's eyes and kissed her lightly on the lips before going back to staring in awe of her second daughter and final child. The retired thirty-seven Broadway actress leaned down to place her lips against Lia's tiny forehead. Jisoo had been on her way to meet the newborn along with the Manoban's other children. A knock interrupted Jennie's thoughts and Lisa stood to let in their visitors who were of course Jisoo holding Lucy's hand with one of hers and Luca's with the other. Once the door was closed again, Lucy ran to her mama's bed and stared into the bundle of blankets that was her little sister and she smiled up to her mother as Jisoo gave Lisa a strangling, friendly hug then went to Jennie's other side and gasped with her mouth covered by her hands. "Jennie... she's beautiful." Jisoo looked down at her niece, smiling as her pinkie finger was taken hostage by the little one's grasping hand. "Thank you so much Jisoo." Jennie smiled at her best friend as she held the little Lia up to her aunt. Jisoo took the little one carefully in her arms and bounced while cooing to her. Five year old Lucy sat gingerly in her mother's lap waiting patiently for her turn to hold her new baby sister, three year old Luca was holding onto his appa's neck while looking around the hospital room as his father held him quietly. "Who else is visiting?" Jisoo turned to talk to the parents as she gave little Lia back to Jennie, tucking a loose strand of chestnut hair behind her ear. "Bambam, Nayeon, I think Jackson is, and of course our parents." Jennie ticked the names off on her free hand because she had placed her youngest child cautiously in Lucy's lap, holding Lia's head so Lucy could give her sister a kiss lightly on the head. "Luca, sweetie, you can come over here if you want." Jennie smiled at her second child and he toddled over to his mother holding both his father's and Jisoo's hands and Lisa lifted him to place him on the cramped bed as he also waited to hold his little sister. Luca had always been more drawn to his father and he always made sure that whatever he was doing, his father saw and approved. Jisoo looked at the family, playing with the necklace she had on before leaning down and kissing all three children one last time before saying goodbye to the parents lovingly and wandering back to the car. Nearly two hours after Jisoo left, Luca had finally had his turn holding his baby sister and smiling the entire time that no one had noticed the door creak open and another of Lisa's castmates Bambam showed up and tackled Lisa in a bear-hug before turning to see the other four Manobans. Lucy stood up and let her uncle Bambam hug her and her legs left the bed as he picked her up and tickled her on the ribcage. "Hey there Mama." Bambam smiled at his former castmate' s wife and he bent down to give her a friendly squeeze before straightening up again. "Hey there Bam." She smiled at Bambam, her nose crinkling as she handed her wife the baby, then from Lisa, she gave Bambam the little girl. "She gonna seize the day?" Bambam looked at his friend, a cocky smirk playing on his face and Lisa pretended to slug Bambam on the arm as Jennie laughed into her hand. Both older children rolled their eyes at their uncle and stuck their tongues out at him. The door opened and closed once more and Jennie was happy to see another visitor but this time it was Nayeon, Jennie smiled from her position on the bed as the kids ran to clobber their aunt Nayeon in a hug. She looked down at her niece and nephew with a huge smile on her face and struggled over to Jennie but not before giving Lisa a tight squeeze and peeking into the blanketed bundle that was Lia Kim-Manoban, still in her uncle Bambam's arms. When Nayeon finally got to Jennie she leaned down as well, kissing her on the head lightly as Jennie's arms wound around her waist. "She's beautiful, Jen." "Thank you Nayeon." Lisa came back to her wife and perched on the side of the bed wrapping an arm around the back of the bed and kissing Jennie on the side of the head with a smile she could feel. Bambam handed little Lia to Nayeon and he asked aloud; "Is it alright if I bring the kiddos home? Lucy, Luca? Do you want to stay over with me for the night?" Lucy looked to her mother and Luca looked to his father, the couple looked to each other communicating in their minds. "Kids? Do you want to spend the night with uncle Bambam?" Luca was the first to toddle over to his uncle and he clung to the older man's knees smiling, Lucy followed her little brother's lead and smiled up at her uncle. "I guess that's a yes." Bambam looked at his friends, picking up both of the children and saying goodbye to Nayeon, Lisa, Jennie, and little Lia. "Bye Mama. Bye Dada." Lucy looked back first and waved her little hand, her parents waving back telling her they loved her. "Bye Mommy. Bye Daddy." Luca blew a kiss to his parents and Lisa pretended to catch and pocket it. The door closed and Nayeon moved closer to her friends still holding the littlest Manoban child softly in her arms looking down at her with adoration clear in her brown irises. "Hey? Nayeon? Where's Jeongyeon?" Jennie did notice the absence of Nayeon's wife and was curious about where the woman was. "Oh! I forgot to tell you. Jeong told me she's very very sorry but she has an important work trip coming up tomorrow so she was packing when I left the apartment." Nayeon looked sadly at her friend because of course Nayeon wished that her wife could've met Lia in the hospital as she had when Jennie gave birth to Lucy and Luca. "It's alright Nayeon. Just take a bunch of photos to show Jeongyeon. Or just wait until she comes home and you two can come over for dinner." Nayeon nodded at the suggestion, standing to place the newborn in her bassinet, she leaned down again to hug her sister then stood to hug Lisa once more and left the room waving and smiling. Jennie waved too until she grimaced in pain, 'Must've stretched funny' she thought as she grabbed a chunky pillow and held it to her lower area, just over the scar where the surgeon sewed her tearing to have the 7 pound twenty nine ounce newborn grabbed out of her uterus. Jennie had always hated the aftermath of labor because she couldn't sleep well for weeks on end and she was battling cramps way worse than any period cramp she had ever dealt with. "You okay baby?" Lisa noticed her wife's distress and stroked the offending place gently with his thumb and forefinger, her head went to the place between her breasts and slowly deflating stomach, Jennie's hands played with the black strands of her hair. The couple sat like that for what seemed like forever until Lia whimpered in her sleep. Lisa scooped up the tiny wailing baby as Jennie moved from her comfortable position to nurse the hungry newborn. Half an hour later, Jennie set Lia back in the bassinet and found herself suddenly tired. She yawned into her curled hand getting herself more splayed out to be comfortable and just like that fell asleep. Lisa stared at her wife in awe, adoration, and with love clear in her eyes until she yawned too. She kissed Jennie's knuckles softly, tucking hair behind her ear and fell asleep as well, her head found the mattress still holding onto her wife, the mother of her children, her soulmate, her best friend, her everything's hand. They knew even in sleep they could hold onto each other and never ever let go. They had forever entangled within their hands. The proof was the golden bands clinging to their left ring fingers, the vein closest to the heart rested under the skin and bone of that special finger. Lisa and Jennie Manoban had, and would continue to love each other today, tomorrow, forever.
