Oh no.
"Nice try. SCARLETT!"
A girl with light red hair, pale skin, and periwinkle eyes comes running. "What, Crimson?"
She kinda reminds me of someone...
"Can you build a replica of that ability blocker Dex made?"
Scarlett's eyes go misty-eyed at the mention of Dex. "Sure."
"Good. And you--" Crimson directs at me. "Try that again and you'll get waaaaay worse than what's coming to you."
Crimson walks away but Scarlett stays, staring at me.
"How's Dex?" She whispers. I'm a little taken back."Huh?"
"How's. Dex." She says slower.
"Oh, um, last time I saw him, he was... good."
Scarlett lets out a small happy sigh. "Perfect."
I'm still confused, until realization dawned on me. "You know Dex?"
She gives me a small, sad smile. "He's my little brother."
Whoa. "Bu-But then why are you apart of the Neverseen?" I stutter.
Scarlett makes a small force field. "Because one day, someone teased me and I just couldn't take it anymore. Of course they'd exile the girl whose younger siblings are triplets and whose parents are a Bad Match."
I stare at her. "What?"
Scarlett laughs dryly. "But it's fine. I don't even miss it that much. I only miss Dex. He was the only one who actually cared about."
"Wh-what? What about the triplets? Your parents?"
Scarlett looks away. "I love Mom and Dad and all, but I doubt they even notice I'm gone. And the triplets were like, toddlers when I was exiled."
Scarlett paused. "But I'm doing this for Dex. I'm making the world safer for him."
