Part 23 [February 10, 2022]

Coming home after venting to Viv, plans to get more attention from Kiefer

Lunch with Viv was good. Zelda quite enjoyed it. February was not good when you wanted to be warm. Blake had on torn jeans with white and black striped tights, but she was still cold. She sort of knew that. She could have put on some thigh sweatpants or something, but she'd picked these for different reasons. The tights were really comfortable at least. Her oversized black sweater was similarly comfortable, and it was warmer against the wind. Zelda wore thicker tights, a fluffy skirt, and a sweater with a lamb on it. She was too cute for words, Viv even said so.

Coming home Blake had a certain mindset. She'd been venting about Kiefer. She didn't really complain about things to anyone. She kept just about everything in her head or her music. Sometimes it was in the lyrics, sometimes it was in the tempo. A song about things going just fine, a knowing smile, and some crashing music behind it said just as much as "but really, its not." Though the rougher things remained in drafts. Maybe some fans would appreciate more rough drafts coming to life, but that was usually for youtube. Blake did publish more music on youtube than anywhere else, even through the record label. It had been written into their contract that they could post things on youtube, Carla was meticulous.

The meeting with Viv was not really about music though. Of course she talked about her new music, the song they were doing in collaboration, and how amazing Pink Slip was, but those things always came up. They were considering doing a video for their song, Step with Me. It was a good one and Blake was happy to make more music videos than necessary. Still, mostly they'd talked about Kiefer. Blake just wasn't sure what to do. He was always on his phone. He was working way more than necessary. He hadn't said that he had a project coming up, so why? He flipped between paying attention to her and Zelda, and just not. It was stressful and Zelda was starting to ask about Papa's behavior. Viv suggested more sex appeal. More attention. He must be feeling unappreciated or some such. Blake wasn't sure how that worked for her, but she would do it. Anything to engage Kiefer more. Anything to help Zelda. Anything for her family.

First they just had to shoot the music video for Chico. And celebrate Valentine's Day. Blake was looking forward to it. That day when Kiefer came home, Blake insisted that they watch a show together, and managed to maintain his interest all the way into bed later that night. Progress.
