"DID YOU LOVE HIM?" the lady asks. a gentle hand cards through her hair, and EMBER rests her head on her lap. she hums a sweet tune—familiar in the way one would recognize a face they'd only seen once.
"NO," EMBER utters softly. the lady hums her delight, and hands her his head.
"YOU WILL LOVE ANOTHER," the lady muses.
EMBER stares at his head blankly, but then smiles. "ANOTHER BLUE EYED BOY?"
"I ALWAYS DID LIKE HOW BLUE THE SEA WAS. I NEVER COULD SWIM, HOWEVER."
EMBER offers her condolences.
"BRING ME THE BOY," the lady whispers in her ear.
EMBER turns, but no one is there.
LAKEN begins to scream.
