Chapter Thirty-eight

"Why did you do that?" matigas na saad ni Maliyah sa anak ng makalayo-layo na sila sa pamilya.

Lumingon ulit siya sa table nito at nakita niyang halos lahat ng mga nakaupo doon ay nakatinging sa kilang mag-ina.

Ianalie stopped walking and looked at her mother flatly, "Kailangan pa ba e tanong mom? Do you really think I will let that family insult you?"

Maliyah sighed and hold her daughter's hand, "Thank you, E, but you really don't need to do that, after all they're still your family" Ianalie wanted to roll her eyes but she's in front of her mother so she did everything to stop from doing so.

She hated the idea of disrespecting her mom, she loves her that much.

Mariing pumikit si Ianalie bago sumagot, "They're not mom, and will never be! I regret searching for answers and defy your words! The moment na nalaman ko ang totoo? Wala na ang pamilyang yan sa buhay ko!"

Maliyah bit her lip while looking at her daughter's pained expression. Naalala niya yung panahong hindi sinasadyang nalaman ni Ianalie ang totoo tungkol sa buong pagkatao nito, she locked herself for almost two years.

"E, naiintindihan ko ang sakit na nararamdaman mo. If you're worried about me, don't worry I already forgave them." Nakangiting saad nito sa anak.

"Why are you like that, Mom? They did horrible things to you! tapos you'll say na, you forgave them?!" Nanginginig sa galit na saad ni Ianalie sa Ina.

"E, it's from the past we should forget—" Ianalie can't help but rolled her eyes. She regret it easily though. She sighed and looked around before looking at her mom again, "I'm sorry, Mom"

She hates being like this, mabilis lang siyang magalit sa lahat ng bagay kaya hanggang kaya niya, pinipigilan niya talaga, pero kung ang pamilya na 'yon ang pag-uusapan ibang kwento na 'yon.

Hinaplos ng Ina ang pisngi ng anak bago ito sinagot, "It took lot of years before I accepted it all and forgive them, kasi anak masakit dito" Tinuro nito ang puso "Masakit kapag may galit ka sa isang tao."

"I know you know that better than anyone else."

"I'm sorry, mom. Hindi ko sila mapapatawad gaya mo" Maliyah just smiled at her daughter and kiss her forehead.

Gusto niyang pagsabihan ang anak but she stop herself, alam na ni Ianalie ang tama at hindi, Isa pa hindi niya alam ang nararamdaman ng anak. She was not there when her daughter found out everything that she hid from her, wala siyang karapatan pagsabihan ang anak na magpatawad dahil kahit siya naabutan pa ng ilang dekada para magawa yun.

"Aunt! Ianalie!" Sabay silang natigil at napatingin sa tumawag.

"Deborah! Good day sweetheart" Maliyah greeted her and kisses her cheeks, ngumiti ng malaki ang babae na lumapit din kay Ianalie para humalik sa pisngi.

"Good day too Aunt, gorgeous than ever! And gosh, You look more beautiful than before Ianalie!" Deborah teased the two who just laughed at her.

Deborah is currently holding a wine while standing proudly in front of them, people are eyeing her from head to toe but the woman didn't seem bothered about it, she's used to it. Montresor is the closest relatives of Thorstein. It's not every day that you see a Montresor, they rarely show themselves to the public.
