twenty : fight

"guys! the new student and the football team's leader are fighting!" a junior ran inside the cafeteria shouting, pointing at the door as everyone immediately rushed out to go and see

haerin sighed, placing her chopsticks down and leaving her barely eaten lunch on the table before following all the students

it was loud. it was chaotic. and she couldn't see what the hell was going on.

"you motherfucker, what did you just call her?!" jungwon pushed the football team's leader, nishimura riki, harshly as he stumbled back. he chuckled, cracking his knuckles "the weirdo is offended now? i'm sorry for telling you the truth, your girlfriend is an ugly bloodsucker-" the younger couldn't finish his sentence as jungwon punched his face with all the strength he had in his body

"oh because yours is better? a new layer of skin made with makeup sounds nice to you? i bet she looks like a horse without all of that shit on her face" his girlfriend, lee hyein, gasped from behind riki as she grabbed her bag from her shoulder, raising her arm in the air to hit him with it but riki placed his arm in front of her to stop her "i'll handle this babe"

"please, have you seen yourself in the mirror? or do you have eyes to notice that the vampire you're calling pretty is a living pile of trash?" the boy clenched his fist, feeling his blood boil in anger while his eyes slowly turn a dark shade of red, killing the other with his gaze while he just laughs with everyone else as they hype him up

"oh? cat got your tongue now? or are you saying i'm right?" jungwon pushed him so hard that he fell to the floor, trapping him between his knees and punching his face with a killing gaze as now the crowd was hyping him up

won stopped when his nose started bleeding, grabbing his face violently and leaning close to him, staring right into his soul "you can say everything about me, but talk about haerin with that filthy mouth of yours again and that'll be the last thing you'll do"

the football player smirked before opening his mouth again "you're talking about the pathetic killer, aren't you?"

that was it. he warned him. his hands wrapped around his neck and he began applying pressure on it, wanting to make him suffer until his last breath

no one talks shit about haerin. especially someone worthless like nishimura riki.

riki's face was slowly becoming purple and he started coughing loudly, asking jungwon to stop with his eyes but he just shook his head and smiled evilly. hyein gasped before glaring at the older, throwing her bag on the ground and almost jumping on him when suddenly, she dropped to the ground holding her neck with her hands. jungwon's fist tightened more as he held it right in front of her face until she fainted.

the students gasped loudly, backing up and distancing themselves from him as haerin saw her golden opportunity. she pushed everyone and grabbed his right arm, trying to pull him away but he yanked her hand and went back on choking the poor boy

"jungwon stop!" her arms wrapped around his waist as she attempted to drag him away but everything was useless. jungwon won't leave him alone until he has suffered enough.

"leave haerin, this is none of your business" the raven removed the tie from riki's neck and tilted his head to the left, letting his fangs slide out and nearly digging them in if haerin didn't push him to the ground, quickly grabbing his arm and taking him away from him before he could do anything else

she pushed him inside the nursery and locked the door, making him sit on the bed before letting out a tired sigh "what the hell haerin?! why did you drag me away?"

"jungwon, you were about to kill him in front of everyone!"

"he deserved it"

"no one deserves to die" she massaged her temples in frustration and clasped the first aid kit, opening it and taking out the disinfectant and a piece of cotton. she poured some of the liquid into the cotton before tapping it on the cut on his cheekbone

"why the hell were you fighting with that asshole? your face is full of cuts now"

"he used his keys on my face because i called his girlfriend an ugly bitch" the girl pressed the cotton ball on his wound purposely as he hissed in pain, moving his face away from her hand while barely touching the cut with his finger

"i did it because he called you a fat, awful for the eyes, and miserable girl. he deserved even more than just choking. he accused you of killing hanni and danielle when you did nothing"

"that's still not a reason to choke him. they say these things every day, i'm used to it now" haerin carefully placed a small bandage near his eye as won stared at her, admiring her features. he swear jang haerin was the prettiest human in this whole universe

she turned toward the tiny table where the first aid kit was placed to get another bandage but just then, jungwon grabbed her waist and kissed her, shocking completely the girl who stood there frozen like an ice cream

it took her a good minute to finally process what he just did and kiss him back, wrapping her arms around his nape and pulling him closer, feeling a fluttery sensation in her stomach, like butterflies were flying around in her tummy.

it made her feel lightheaded.

maybe, and just maybe, she was falling for him?
