Author POV

It had been difficult to track down the shifters initially, as Jimin knew them by their names. But to the camps they had assigned numbers, like they were manufactured products. So aside from rough appearances to give the two older men, Jimin wasn't really of much help.

Most of their days were spent with the men showing Jimin the shifters they had found that they believed fit the criteria, only for Jimin to shut it down with a firm shake of his head. Jimin wasn't sure what to do, he wanted to desperately find his shifters and complete their bond.

But at the same time he didn't like to entertain what plans the two heads of the Nobles houses could possibly be concocting. They seemed far too eager to help, especially since they had once looked at Jimin with disgust or disappointment.

But Jimin could definitely say that having Jin by his side was helping greatly, after Jimin had spent and entire day healing the shifter and forcing his Grandfather to call a shifter medic to come look at the shifter, was glad to see Jin improving.

When Jimin woke up, it was to Jin curled around him in his human form.  Ever since he had been bonded to Jimin, which was less than a week, whenever they were in the privacy of Jimin's room he became his human form. Jimin thought it might be due to the fact the shifter had been forced to remain in his animal form for too long without the choice to shifter between his forms.

Jimin had seen some of the servants stop in their tracks when they saw Jin sitting on the end of Jimin's bed in his human form. The eyes of a well trained predator tracking their every move as they travelled around the room fulfilling their tasks. Jimin had to admit even he was a little unnerved sometimes when he saw Jin's eyes like that.

But it was his Grandfather that he was least expecting to turn up in his bedroom. The elderly man had been excited, they thought they had found some of Jimin's shifters, so when the man had seen Jin perched on the end of Jimin's bed, very much human, he had been baffled.

"Jimin why would you allow something like this?" His Grandfather gestured to Jin in disgust.

With his old fashioned way of thinking, Sung Park believed all shifters should remain in their animal forms, no matter what.

"Because he doesn't care which form I am in" Jin's voice cut through the silent room like a cleaver.

Sung Park looked to Jin, his jaw agape in absolute shock. Jin rolled his eye that he could still use at the old man's reaction, Jimin found himself smirking a little at that reaction from his shifter.

"So this is why you can't identify them, you only saw their human forms?" Sung Park turned his accusing glance towards Jimin.

Jimin nodded in response to the statement. He was quickly grabbed by his Grandfather who clearly wanted to inform Han-gyeol of this revelation. Jin decided to follow behind them in his human form, he had no desire to shifter into his snow leopard form. His snow leopard spots were clear to see on his forearms as he was wearing a short sleeved top.

~*~

After Han-gyeol had gotten over his initial shock of Jin's human form, they had gotten to work again trying to find the shifters once more.

It was around an hour or so into the session when Han-gyeol let out a small shout of joy, he had managed to find the file of the shifters that had been broken out in the rebel raid. Even if he controlled the sector of shifter camps, he didn't always get notified of every issue the camps faced, especially if they cleaned up after themselves.

"Can you remember their forms?" Han-gyeol turned to Jimin as he pulled up the case files.

The first few were unfamiliar to Jimin, but as they skipped to maybe the 5th or 6th case file, Jimin's breath got caught in his throat as the sight of Jungkook's wolf form greeted him.

"Him" his hands shook as he signed.

"Jungkook" Jin's voice sounded sad as he mentioned the younger shifter's name.

The file ended there, because Jungkook had been broken out on a different raid to the others, as he had been with Jimin a whole year before the others were freed.

So soon now that Han-gyeol had located the files, he was easily able to pull up the next rebel attack result file, the one which had been covered on the news and the last 5 of the shifters that Jimin partially bonded had been involved in, Jin included.

Jimin had physically shook as he saw the shifters depicted in the candid photos. They all looked so different to when he last saw them, it really hit him there and then how long 8 years could truly be, and how much it could change someone.

But soon they had located most of the shifters, Namjoon, Hoseok and Jungkook still remained in the camps by the looks of it, while Taehyung and Yoongi had been registered as taken. Though it made no mention of who took them, only the name of an ominous sounding company.

"We will get those three tomorrow, I will track down the other two in the mean time" Han-gyeol informed him, without even looking away from the laptop screen.

"Thank you" Han-gyeol barely noticed when Jimin's interpreter translated the young man's hand signs.

Jimin left the main living room of the Park manor house, with his hands trembling. His chest barely seemed to draw breath, Jin reached out a hand and held the human's. Because tomorrow he might not be the only one to reach out.
