The Unknown Hashira (Demon Slayer x Reader)

[29: An Emergency]

It's been a week since the Swordsmith Village attack and it has been a week since Nezuko survived the sun. Y/n's children; Tanjiro, Nezuko, and Zenitsu are currently in Shinobu's estate, healing up. 

Things got out of hand when Zenitsu saw how adorable Nezuko was under the sun, even telling her to marry him. Nezuko on the other hand thought that he was Inosuke making him mad at the boar. 

Currently, the hashiras are having a meeting, an emergency meeting. 

"Aagh, I envy you guys, dammit. Why can't I bump into upper moons?" Sanemi said, disappointed about him just meeting weaker demons. 

"It's not like people bump into them all the time, but how are you two doing, Kanroji, Tokito?" Obanai asked. 

"Oh, yeah! I'm feeling a lot better!" Kanroji said happily, smiling at how someone is worried about her. 

"I... am not at full strength yet," Tokito said, looking down. 

"If we lose more hashiras, the demon hunters will be in trouble... But defeating two upper moons without a casualty is very noble." Gyomei said while crying. 

"You two recovered surprisingly quickly from this. Did anything happen?" Shinobu asked. 

"Oyakata-sama probably wants to talk to us about everything, including this," Giyu stated. 

"I'm very sorry for the wait," Someone talked, when they looked up it is Ubuyashiki's wife. "For our hashira meeting today, I, Ubuyashiki Amane, will be attending in the place of Ubuyashiki Kagaya," Amane explained. 

"Right now, the disease affecting our Master Kagaya has gotten worse. And he sends his apologies for being unable to attend this meeting in front of you all." All of the hashiras bowed and declared that they will pray for Ubuyashiki's health especially for Amane to be strong. "He would like to give his thanks to all the hashiras."

"I'm sure all of you know that we now have a demon who has conquered the sun, and she is here. Kibutsuji Muzan has most likely altered his goals to go after her so that he can conquer the sun himself. The time for an all-out battle is approaching." Amane explained. "Also, we have reports of strange marks appearing on Kanroji-sama and Tokito-sama during their battles against the upper moon. So, I would like to ask you two about how you got those marks and what the conditions are to obtain them." 

The two hashiras mentioned were confused about the marks so Amane started explaining. 

"During the Sengoku Era, there were some swordsmen of the first breath who was one step away from ending Kibutsuji Muzan. They all had marks that resembled the demon crests." This made the hashiras shocked. "This knowledge has been passed down though, so some people should know about this," Amane explained, and as soon as she finished explaining one hashira arrived. 

The Unknown hashira. 

The Unknown hashira being as eccentric as ever bowed their head low to the ground that it hit the tatami mats. "I apologize for being very late! There was an animal that was giving birth while I was going down the mountain and I decided to help it!" The hashira exclaimed making everyone shocked. 

"It's fine, Y/n-sama. You may sit down now." Amana stated, and the hashira nodded sitting down beside everyone.

Since everyone has calmed down from the entrance that the Unknown hashira made, Sanemi asked a question. "Amane-sama, you said that this knowledge has been passed down, but I haven't heard of it. So why are we hiding this?" 

"Because a lot of people were brooding over the marks never appearing, and that's why. A lot of information about the marks became hazy over time, maybe because it was never laid out in stone back then. And the demon hunters were on the verge of annihilation countless times, so perhaps the succession died out at some point." Amane explained. 

"But we do have one piece of consistent knowledge about them." Amane started. "Once one person has that mark on them, it starts spreading to others as if they're resonating." 

"That was how one of the swordsmen of the first breath put it." One of the children said. 

"And as of now, the person who first had this mark was not any of the hashiras here, but Kamado Tanjiro," Amane said. "But when we asked him, he had a hard time explaining how he received those marks. We could have left it off there, but then we got a word that two of the pillars received those as well." Y/n chuckled at how silly Tanjiro is. 

"So please inform us, Kanroji-sama, Tokitou-sama." The Ubuyashiki's said as they bowed at the hashiras. 

Mitsuri started explaining it in her own words, but she is so flustered at how wonderful Amane is and how Y/n is sitting very close to her to the point that she forgot how to use words properly. Everyone looked at her confused, making her apologize. Even Sanemi looked at Obanai as if judging him for falling in love with a girl like her. Obanai just facepalmed. 

"I wasn't aware of any marks, but looking back on the previous battle, I became aware that several things were different." Muichiro started. "If you fulfill these conditions, maybe everyone can get these marks. So let me tell you how it works." Muichiro said. 

Muichiro started explaining how he was immobilized for the first part of the battle because of the poison. But someone tried to save his life and his memories came back resulting in him being angry and losing control over his emotions. 

"I think my heart rate went over 200 bpm and my body became burning hot. I think my body temperature went over 39 degrees." Muichiro said making Shinobu shocked, talking about how that could be life-threatening. "Well, that's why I think it can be used as a screening test. Will you die or will you not? That's probably the difference between those who have the mark appear and those who do not."

Amane repeated Muichiro's condition and Muichiro stated how he had a fever when Shinobu was treating his wounds. "The temperature recorded on the thermometer was about 39 degrees. I guess that I had the same body temperature when the mark appeared." Muichiro explained beautifully. 

"Tch, so it's that simple, huh?" Sanemi exclaimed. 

"I envy those simpletons who can say this is simple," Giyu said absent-mindedly. 

"What?" 

"Nothing." 

The hashiras started talking about how the mark is now one of their priorities to do. "Thank you very much. But I do have one thing to say regarding your mark training. Those who have manifested the mark must participate." Amane explained. "No matter who it has appeared for, and there will be no exceptions," Amane said and everyone agreed, well, someone didn't. 

Before Amane could leave and tend to her husband, Muichiro spoke again. "The demon that I fought said there is a demon hashira." Everyone stopped, especially Amane, her eyes widening a bit. 

Muichiro then slowly looked behind him, looking at the Unknown hashira straight into their mask, Y/n shivering knowing how intense the young boy's gaze is. 

"The Unknown Hashira to be exact."
