September 15 - October 15, 2022

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month to all my Latin x readers, I am a Latina myself, I was born to two Mexican parents but I am as pale as a sheet of paper so people are surprised when I say I'm Hispanic 😂

Happy Hispanic Heritage Month to all my Latin x readers, I am a Latina myself, I was born to two Mexican parents but I am as pale as a sheet of paper so people are surprised when I say I'm Hispanic 😂

Also, my birthday is in the midst of Hispanic Heritage Month, September 29, 2005.

But back to Hispanics, I love my heritage, the food, clothes, culture, etc. being able to embrace who I am despite the hardships of it, I will not lie to you and say that some of my experience with it is similar to my family so let me tell yall a little about how my grandparents and parent went through it

My grandma worked in the fields for most of her life and not just in Mexico but also in Florida, Indiana, and other places that ima be honest don't remember fully, my grandpa also worked in the fields for most of his life, my mom worked with them for about 18/19 years while also having kids to take care of just like my grandpa, my grandparents and mom would work in the field from barely dawn to around 9 pm with just a lunch break getting only a few dollars to support their family

My grandma even now still is hard working, at the age of 68 she works outside with my grandpa who is 62, although they do settle down a little more now they still work, not jobs but outside, my grandpa had to stop working many years ago, before I was even born, due to him having a stroke and half his body being paralyzed while my grandma worked with my aunt till 2015 when she began having stomach problems and had breast cancer, she had surgery and was in the hospital for about 2 years, her stomach was never stitched closed and now that's how she does the number 2

My mom used to work 2 jobs to make a living for her 6 children, 3 of which are high school dropouts while one was in elementary school and the twins are merely 2/3, a single mom working through all hours of the day, that was when we would wake up or sleep we never saw her unless we had to use the bathroom in the middle of the night and saw her coming home, even now she works a lot, and now that I'm a Junior in high school and the twins in 5th grade, we still struggle

Even though there were a lot of struggles for them in Mexico then going somewhere else to struggle just as much, they still got the work done, and now we're here, my grandparents living a nice retired life with 9 children, 60+ grandchildren, 20+ great-grandchildren with more on the way, they are doing well and will be living many more years, even though they do work themselves even now

And my mom still struggles but she's happy with her 6 children, 1 grandchild, a son-in-law, a dog, and 5 cat grandchildren, she does well for herself.
