25. From The Dead To The Living Again

A baby's first wail achoed all four walls around a small house.

Kea stared at her child lovingly with a tired smile as sweat ran down her forehead,"she's beautiful." She said.

"Like her mother." Scott said with a proud smile before he looked at his daughter.

"We have to name her." Kea said.

They both quiet for a while as they thought about the most suited name for their daughter.

Scott stared at his daughter who had a large ball of red hair and the mother of his child,"Uriah."

Uri-means my flame, my light.

Sheila held her granddaughter's hand as they chanting the spell to melt the necklace.

"You are stronger than all of this. I'm so proud of you." Sheila said.

"Tell Kaya, I'm sorry." Bonnie said crying.

Sheila smiled knowingly,"you should tell her yourself." She said before she disappeared.

Elena and Rebekah were in the Salvatore Boarding. Rebekah was telling her the story about how the original family came to be.

"Why did Mikael start hunting Klaus?"

" When Nik killed his soon to be wife,  killing her triggered his werewolf gene. With that, he became my father's greatest shame."

"Wait you said wife? Klaus had a wife."

"It was soon to be. Keep up." Rebekah said.

"And he killed her?"

"Sadly. It wasn't his fault. He just turned his blood thirst was too great and she was too close. Kaya was the person he was different too."

"Kaya?" Elena asked.

"You ask as if you know her?"

"Maybe it's not the same Kaya." Elena shook her head,"I mean what are the odds. She was Damon and Stefan's nanny but she wasn't that old. Right?" Elena asked before she scrolled down her phone,"is this her?" She showed her  to Rebekah.

"Oh my God." Rebekah gasped with her eyes wide open,"where is she?"

"She died a few months ago saving Damon."

Rebekah set back down,"it can't be. She dead? Again? I saw her die."

Scott held his daughter closely to him with one of his arm while he had held Kea's hand with other as they ran.

Once they were far, Kea suddenly ripped her hand from Scottt.

"What are you doing? They are not far from us. Come." Scott said about to grab her hand.

"No, not until you tell what's going on? Why are we running?"

"Some people are trying to kill me. You and our daughter are in danger." Scott said.

"Why? Why would they want to kill you? What did you do?"

"Nothing. They just assumed I was a bad person." Scott said.

Kea looked at him knowing he was lying.

"Kea, I'll explain everything once we get to safety." Scott placed his hand on the side of her face and caressed her cheek,"Trust me." He looked into her eyes.

Kea nodded before she held his hand again.

Suddenly arrow went past Kea through Scott's shoulder and other through his knee.

Scott groaned as he fell to the ground  on his knee burning his wounds,"arg."

"Rebekah, you need to tell me the whole story. Your mother had had an affair with one of the werewolf villagers. Klaus wasn't his son."

Rebekah shook her head,"right. She tried to make it right. She put the hybrid curse on Nik to suppress his werewolf side, and then she turned her back on him. But Mikael's greatest weakness as a human was his pride. As a vampire, that was magnified. He went on a rampage and killed half the village. Then he came home and killed her."

Elena stunned, whispering," Mikael killed your mother?"

"He said she broke his heart so he would break hers. He tore it from her chest as Nik watched."

"What happened after?"

"Afterwards, my father took off in a rage, and the rest of my family scattered. Nik stayed, so he could help me bury her. He knew I had to say goodbye to my mother."

"Always and forever...even though he locked you in a coffin for ninety years."

"We're vampires. Our emotions are heightened. I'm stubborn, Elijah moral, and Nik...Nik has no tolerance for those who disappoint him. Over a thousand years as a family we've all made that mistake at least once. I've made it several times."

"But you still love him?"

"He's my brother. And I'm immortal. Should I spend an eternity alone instead? Maybe it would have been different if Kaya was there." Rebekah smiled.

"Kaya. I haven't heard that name in centuries." Rebekah said,"he was tormented by her death, it was almost unbearable than one day he suddenly stopped. And he never talked about her or brought up name. He was a different man around her." She said still in shock.

"Who was Kaya to Klaus?" Elena asked.

"Someone who can change him." Rebekah said. "You've heard the story, it's time to go. I said leave, Elena! I don't know what you're up to, but I'm no longer playing along."

" I'm just looking for one good reason why we shouldn't wake Mikael."

"And I've given you a thousand! But you will anyway. I know you want him to help you kill my brother, I'm not stupid."

"It's no secret that I want Klaus dead. He has a hold over Stefan's life, and over mine."

"Do what you need. Wake Mikael at your own peril. But make no mistake, if you come after my brother, I will rip you apart. And I get my temper from my father. Now leave!"

"Scott." Kea tried to grab him. Kea looked behind them angrily. She got up to cast her magic upon them.

"No." Scott said standing in front of her,"remember what you said when we first met. You don't use your magic to hurt people, only to heal. " He held her cheek,"Stay that way. Stay pure." He looked down on her daughter,"Take care of our daughter. Uriah." Scott smiled through his distressed,"your father, is sorry. This is all my fault. If I had found your mother sooner. I would have been a better man." He said as his tear fell on his daughter before he placed her in Kea's arms.

"What are you doing?" Kea asked with tears of her own.

Scott smiled before everything disappeared.

"Remember Uri. You are loved. You are the daughter of......"

Kaya opened her eyes, and had the suddenly need to breath. She pushed her arm beyond her body.

Dug dirt until there was she saw the light. She gasped bring air into her lungs as pulled herself out of her own grave.

I'm back. It's been a busy, long week with no internet connection but regular updates from today.
