Fires only burn in the night
For when the darkness overcomes
For when beasts we do become
We need the fire
For when we tire
For when we cannot push ourselves higher
Fire do they light
Saviours in the dark, our glorious knights
How oblivious must we be to their plight?
For the fire warms our tears
For it softens our fears
For when there is no one near
Alas the dawn breaks
And my heart quakes
I knew not that the night would end
And now
It is time for my love to rend
