ATLA - Horizon Zero Dawn Fanfiction

I'm back and I explain everything and I want to write more now

There was an awkward silence. 

Both Aloy and Kïma were just looking at each other, wondering where to start. The Nora was biting her tongue repetedly, trying to act casual in front of the people whose village they had terrorized not so long ago. She had to apologize to the guy with the glasses first, on behalf of Kïma.

"Finn, I just wanted to say that we're sorry for breaking into Paris... We had orders to follow, from the same person that we're here to tell you about."

"Shaw. Camilla told me. But please, skip over the whole speach on how you're sorry, you'll have plenty of time to prove it and to repay us later. Right now, I want to hear about Shaw", he said, crossing his arms. 

Aloy squinted her eyes to hide her tiny smile. She was aware that this was an awful moment to laugh, but the man was just so comical. Each of his moves seemed carefully planned out to add some dramatic effect or to make him appear confident. At least he was trying. 

"There is something wrong with Shaw... I mean, I never knew him before but... We believe he's been trying to get rid of us a few times now."

"He has something in the back of his neck. Something that an enemy soldier named Omega had, back home. And I believe it had something to do... with HADES. I don´t know if it´s used to corrupt people, or if it´s just a coincidence, but they were both acting really weird."

Kïma cleared her throat to take a short break and added :

"They both... froze at the mention of love. I know it sounds super cheesy but really, it´s what happened. That´s how we got the upper hand on Omega, and I´ve been thinking about it ever since, just 'Why was she acting like that ?'. But we found a video of you." She pointed at Finn" And of Tate and all. You were saying that deleting HADES´ability to love would..."

"Increase its efficiency", Finn completed, nodding seriously.

"Exactly. So, I don´t know how, but it has to be connected somehow... That´s why we came back. I mean, we destroyed HADES back home, or so we thought."

"Unless something brought him here. Like a machine, which could have flown all the way from our land to here. A machine that doesn´t belong here."

"The A-Bird...", Finn breathed out.

Both women nodded, giving him the time to process the informations.

"As you´re part of the team that built him, maybe you can help us here, and help Shaw ? His behaviour is a major problem... Umara is only a step away from quite the war..."

"I know we have to skip the whole speach, but really, you have to understand that we´re sorry about our previous intrusion, we really want to make it up to you."

The Old One rubbed his forehead, seemingly biting the inside of his cheek as well.
He placed his hands on his hips, looking at Camila, before rubbing his forehead again, apparently unable to choose how to act.
After a few seconds, he stopped and declared :

"This is terrible. This... This isn´t Shaw, at all ! This is just... a vessel for HADES to do how he pleases. I... I was the one who put the 'thing' in Shaw´s neck and-"

"What ??"

Kïma took a step forward, subtly reaffirming her grip on her spear. It was enough for the whole group around Finn to adopt a defensive position, drawing their sophisticated blades as well.
Immediately, the Old One raised his hands, pushing the blades around him down and repeatedly telling warriors around him to calm down.

"No, no, it isn´t like that ! I didn´t put it there with the intent of making him such a monster ! I... Kïma, your brother was extremely sick ! He... was hearing voices, he was seeing things... He was mentally unstable. He came to me, a few years ago. Even though the relationship between our tribes was a bit tense, we had a meeting. He explained everything to me. He was dying, his sickness was killing him and his tribe, he couldn´t even manage it properly. He felt like he was failing everybody around him, he... I´ve never seen anyone so desperate."
