Jack's POV:
I walk into school seeing an enormous crowd of people surrounding Wilbur. Wilbur was being nothing but a show off, balancing a basketball on his head, juggling a soccer ball with his feet while jumping over a jumprope. I rolled my eyes as I made my way through the crowd. Peter was filming him with a recording camera for some stupid reason, probably to make it go viral.
"Ay 22 new record!" Wilbur exclaimed as he stopped multitasking. His face hardened when someone who absolutely hates him marched over. He made his way over to him and the two stared at each other stiffly. His name's Ricky by the way. The crowd turned their attention to the two of them.
"What do you want asshole?" Wilbur asked him.
"Language, Robinson!" Ricky told him. "Now I just want to tell you that all that dumbass stuff that you just did was all fake. You got lucky."
Violet came over to us and stood next to Wilbur and threatened Ricky saying, "You better back off, or you won't be lucky!" She crossed her arms while saying this and her facial expression meant, "Don't mess with my friend!"
"Ugh whatever," Ricky groaned. "Just make sure that cowlick stays straight up, it'll be an easier target in dodgeball today!"
Just before Wilbur was about to beat the shit out of him, Peter and I grabbed his arm, pulling him away. Ricky has been Wilbur's long time enemy, and we've stuck with him since we were ten.
"Let's think of something else to talk about," Peter said as we managed to get through the crowd of people. Be put his camera in his locker as the crowd disappeared. "The International Space Launch is today! And the teacher on board is going to show his students that he's awesome!"
The teacher was one of Wilbur's favorite teachers during Middle School. His name's Mr. Willerstein and he loves science, inventions, and always believes in his students, especially Wilbur's own dad who changed the world forever. Wilbur gave a small smirk.
"He's already awesome," he said, eyeing Ricky before he grabbed his soccer ball and marched back over to him. Ricky was now holding a project until a soccer ball came right at it. His project crashed to the ground and shattered. Ricky was traumatized looking at his broken project until Wilbur came over, picking up the soccer ball.
"Sorry, man. Looks like my ball just got away from me," he said. Ricky looked him in the eye, his project must've been due today.
"That took me three weeks to build!" Ricky said. Wilbur looked at his ball before looking at his bully again.
"Well, it took my ball three seconds to destroy," Wilbur said as he walked away.
"C'mon Wilbur, that wasn't nice!" Violet told him. "Even if it was Ricky."
"He deserves it after what he's done to me since last year," he replied, a little bit more feisty.
"Whatever he did probably wasn't that bad," Peter said. Wilbur rolled his eyes and kept on rambling.
"He shot an arrow at me, made me lose a basketball game, and sent auto aiming missiles at me!" he ranted. "But this year's gonna be different! I hope he keeps messing with me. Because when he does, I'll be ready! When he does, I'm gonna kill him!!"
"And when you mean kill him you mean-" Peter started until Wilbur finished his sentence for him.
"I'm gonna beat the shit out of that asshole!" he exclaimed, cracking his knuckles as he did so. Okay, love to see that happen one day!
"Okay, okay. We all know that he's a mouth breather but class is going to start and the rocket launch will happen!" Violet said, she grabbed Wilbur's arm and they started walking to class. Everyone is watching the launch first class 'cause it's live and almost everyone in this school looks up to those brave astronauts, that teacher. Let's hope the launch goes well.
Violet's POV:
Wilbur and I walked into science class where everyone was sitting excitingly. Science was all sophomores and my advanced classes are even with Seniors. I sat in the desk next to Penny. Everyone was talking until the bell rang.
When the dreadful sound filled the school, everyone stopped their conversations and looked up at the white board, which was now a screen. Our teacher, Mr. Doofenshrmirtz, turned off the lights as we looked at the screen.
The rocket was about to take off. Commands were fired from almost every crew member. The countdown began and we all chanted with them until.
"Liftoff! We have liftoff!" one of the crew members barked. Everyone in the classroom cheered as the rocket flew higher into the sky. But then, something happened.
A big boom sound shook the screen until the rocket exploded. A lot of commands were listed and all my classmates were confused. Everyone except, Wilbur. I could see the shocked expression on his face as he said what he believed.
"I-I think they're gone," he said. I could tell this stabbed him in the stomach like a knife just by the tone of his voice.
"No, no. That's a part of liftoff, right?" Penny asked. Her voice broke on the last bit. I could tell she knew the real truth but didn't want to believe it. This can't be happening, those astronauts were unstoppable, or that's what I thought. And not just me, almost everyone believed that.
"No, no it's not," Wilbur answered. There were weird beeping noises coming from the TV and then it came. A flatline. I could feel the tears welling in my eyes and I already knew I wasn't the only one. Mr. Doofenshrmirtz shut the TV off. All we could see were our teary eyed faces looking at the blank TV.
"I'll let you guys talk with your friends for the remainder of class," he said. The defeat in his voice told us that he really meant it. Everyone got up except me, it felt like everything was moving at fast pace and I couldn't take it. I was pulled out of my thoughts by Penny's voice.
"Do you really think they're gone?" I looked at her and watched as the tears poured down her pale face. "The astronauts? The teacher on board? Do you really think they're all gone?"
The tears in my eyes were about to fall down my face before I stood up and hugged her. When we pulled apart she walked over to Bella as I noticed Wilbur on the ground. His back was against the wall and his head was buried between his knees. I walked over to him and sat down, closely next to him. He lifted his head up and gave me a smile which was obviously fake. I was about to lean my head on his shoulder but then I realized he might get the wrong idea. I decided to just go for it as I rested my head on his shoulder. He not only smiled a teensy bit but also put a comforting arm around me. His long arm draped around my shoulder as my head laid against him. This is something friends do right?
I don't know but I'm starting to think that...
I'm falling for him again.

A/N: Oooo emotional! I knew I had to make Violet fall for Wilbur again at some point and this was my chance. Maybe Wilbur's starting to fall in love with her? Who knows? Next chapter will be out soon!
