MICKEY
Seeing Ian sitting on my couch was infuriating. Mandy knew what dad would do if he found any Gallagher family member near our house, let alone inside.

The moment that I laid eyes on Ian, I knew that someone's blood was going to end up all over the shitty walls.

Us Milkovich kids were taught that the Gallagher family were a virus. The moment you let them in, they decide to stay, without any thought about leaving. Dad even showed us his special tool box of weapons specifically chosen for each member of the Gallagher family.

I understood why Mandy didn't invite Lip over. I would have blown his brains out within minutes of seeing him. Whereas, Ian, he seemed harmless enough. Well, harmless enough not to mess with Mandy, who nearly went to juvie for stabbing a homemade shiv into a random guy's leg, all because he cat-called her.

Even so, I didn't trust any Gallagher family member, not even Liam, who I couldn't believe was actually Frank's kid...according to Mandy.

Throughout Ian and Mandy's study session, I kept a close eye on Ian, waiting for any excuse to blow his brains out. I'd exit my room and watch as Ian kept his gaze on the work in his hand. He didn't look at Mandy or her body once. That was the first sign.

The second sign was when Mandy put her hand on his leg, looking like she was only one move away from palming Ian through his pants. To my surprised Ian politely smiled and moved away.

The third sign was when I exited my room to see that the books had been packed away and a movie had been playing on the TV. I watched as Mandy put her head on Ian's shoulder. He just sat there, his face not moving once.

3 strikes and then he's out. He had just proven to me that he was gay. That would give me a reason to bash him so hard that he wouldn't be able to stand for a week.

I was one move away from bashing Ian, but I stopped. Why did I stop? Well, I saw him politely move Mandy's head from his shoulder before he suggested to play a game. Of course she agreed, having no clue that Ian had proved his homosexuality 3 times.

There was something about Ian. It might've been that he was gay, and he wasn't interested in fucking my sister, thank god, but he seemed to genuinely like Mandy, platonically of course.

His politeness made me want to vomit. But, it also made me wonder. Maybe the Gallagher family wasn't as bad as I was taught. I mean, if Ian is this nice, he had to have learned his politeness from someone in his family. But then I remembered that my father never hates somebody for no reason, so my split second disbelief disappeared.

When I sat down next to Ian, practically squishing him between Mandy and I, he just let it happen. He didn't protest. He didn't even care when I stole the controller out of his hand, in fact, he didn't look at Mandy once, but his gaze landed on me a couple of times.

Yes, I may have been primarily focused on beating Mandy at her favourite game, but my peripheral vision was still working, which allowed me to notice that every couple of minutes, Ian would look at me, then look at the TV. He would then look me up and down as if he was imagining me naked, which, in all honesty, made me feel flattered.

What the fuck am I talking about? Why the fuck am I feeling flattered that Ian Gallagher, a guy that I should have shot way earlier, was checking me out, hoping I wouldn't notice?

When Ian left the house, I was glad, glad that I didn't have to put up with Mandy constantly trying to get into Ian's pants. I kind of felt sorry for the red-head. He clearly only liked Mandy as a friend, or maybe he didn't like her, he was just being nice. Either way, he was clearly uncomfortable with Mandy trying desperately to fuck him, and he handled it way better than I thought he would. I genuinely believed that he would somehow get upset and have a go at Mandy, finally giving me a reason to bash him. But no, he didn't. He acted like a gentleman.

Needless to say, that was my first mistake; not bashing him or shooting him when I got the chance.
