How Emily Fell

NARRATOR'S POV:

How did they end up this way? Fighting over Eldon, in a heated rivalry? Well, now let's talk about Emily. (Different from the real show). Emily was the dance captain 0f The Next Step. She wasn't mean, but no one crossed her. Mostly because they wanted solos, and good line positions. Disgusting, right? Emily never said that they wouldn't get these if they crossed her, everyone just assumed. Eldon was currently obsessed with her, and it could get on her nerves sometimes. But she tried to be nice. She didn't feel that way about him though. One day, everything changed. Michelle walked in. Emily just stared. Stared at her beautiful golden locks, her bright smile. She didn't think much of it at first. But when she introduced herself and shook Michelle's hand, she felt butterflies. That's when she realized it was happening again. Emily said she was going to get a drink and ran out, stopping once she had turned the corner as she sunk to the ground, holding back tears. Her mind wandered back to 7th grade. 12 year old Emily was new to the school, and nervous about her first day. She took a deep breath and walked in, and was sat next to a girl named Leila-Rose. Emily loved the name. So exotic. She loved Leila's curly brown hair, how thick and bouncy it was. She loved Leila's angel-like voice, how it rang in her ears. She'd never felt like this around any of her friends before. She thought about what it could mean. But then she realized it. Her friends always talked about boys, and how they made them feel. Emily had never felt this way, but figured she just hadn't met the right guy yet. But Emily felt that way about Leila. She couldn't hold the feelings in. She had to tell someone! She needed to tell Leila. But the night before she planned to do so, there was a story on the news. Some girl had been beat up so bad, she was on life support. She had been bullied after her "friends" found out she was gay. Emily was terrified! She couldn't say anything now, not to anyone! But she feared being around Leila as a friend would bring the feelings out. So she turned on Leila. She forced herself to hate her, and she forced herself to get a boyfriend. She pretended the feelings weren't there. And guess what? They were. But Emily went home everyday without a scratch on her face. And she needed it to stay that way. Tears were now streaming down her face as she recalled the memory. What if her dance friends turned on her if they found out? No. That couldn't happen. She needed to do it again. So she did. She pretended to hate Michelle, forcing the feelings away once more, and causing Michelle to hate her. She turned to Eldon, who she knew would be more than eager to be her boyfriend. But when he developed feelings for Michelle in duet practices, Emily knew she had to fight for him. She needed to prove to everyone that she liked boys. Even if deep down, she didn't. That's how they got where they were today. Eldon confused, and Emily and Michelle in a heated rivalry. Emily's feelings were fake, but no one knew that. Well, no one except, secretly, one person.
