HIDDEN SECRETS

Chapter 5

Anna knew Daniella had a lot to say to her or rather ask her, she just hoped she won't be pitied. She knew she had a hand in whatever she had faced or was currently facing.
Daniella ate quietly, watching Anna subtly. She didn't pity her, she just wanted to help her I every way possible. She wasn't the only child and she could not imagine having a life without her sibling, but Anna did that and still had no family. Anna must really be a strong lady to have lived the way she did. Daniella didn't know much but she knew Anna needed help and she was wanted to help.

Anna and Daniella finished their meals when Daniella broke the silence. "I don't pit you Anna, if anything I envy you. I can't imagine all you've been through but I want to help you any way I can". Anna was both relieved and surprised at her response. She didn't want Daniella to pity her which she was relieved and grateful for but she never expected that Daniella would offer to help her. Anna started feeling really sceptical about the help, it wasn't easy to find someone to help and even if you did find they always wanted something in return. "If you're going to help me, do I have to do anything for you or pay in return" Anna could not help but ask. "No, you don't" Daniella said sighing, she expected that question. She knew Anna would feel that way but she just didn't know what it was about Anna that made her want to help her. "To be very honest, I don't know what it is but I just want to help you, not because of what you told me, I just feel the need to help you" Daniella explained. "You could pay me back actually" Daniella said faking thought making Anna bewildered. "You can pay me back by being my friend" Daniella looked at Anna smiling. Anna released a breath she didn't know she was holding. She didn't know if she could trust Daniella but she wanted to give it a try, at least it would take her mind off so many things she was thinking and have someone to share it with. "I think I can do that" Anna replied. "Great" Daniella squealed in excitement running up to hug Anna. "Sorry, I'm just so excited" Daniella apologised which only made Anna laugh.
Daniella expected to see the waiter again coming to collect the bill but to her disappointment, another waiter came. What a shame, she didn't get his name, it probably wasn't meant to be she thought to herself.

"Where were you going before the accident" Daniella asked Anna curiously. Anna didn't know if she should lie or not but she still didn't know if she should completely open up to Daniella either. She finally decided to tell her the truth, they are friends right? "Umm, I just got kicked out of my apartment because I couldn't pay up the rent. I was thinking of staying in a cheap motel for a few days, find a job and start afresh" Anna said, looking down as she was really embarrassed.  "I'm so sorry, I didn't mean to pry" Daniella said. It was good she asked, at least she could help with that she thought. "How do you feel sharing my apartment, we could be roommates till you can get a job and decided to move out" Daniella suggested. "Really?" Anna asked, she wanted to be sure she heard right. How would someone be so nice to a person they just met and didn't know at all. Anna was really surprised, heaven had decided to smile on her she thought. "That would be really nice, thank you so much Daniella. This means a lot" Anna said. She didn't know how to feel, she just smiled to herself. "Let me show you my apartment" Daniella told Anna as they both stood up to leave the cafe.

Daniella got to the front of an insanely big house, she drove in and Anna could not help but ask "is this your apartment?" Daniella smiled and nodded. "This wasn't what I thought when you said apartment, I mean I expected like a flat or something" Anna said really shocked. "Ummm, it is my apartment and my house" Daniella said. Let's go in and I'd show you to your room. Daniella got down from the car and got in the house, leaving a still shocked Anna walking behind her.
As they walked in Anna couldn't stop gawking, not just at the size of the house but the fact that it was for Anna and she lived alone. "You can stop gawking now" Daniella said smiling as she showed Anna to her room where she was and helped her drop her bag. Daniella thought showing Anna round the house now was the best idea because she felt Anna needed to rest. "Let me show you round" Daniella said as she held Anna's hand and showed her round.

After going round the house for about twenty minutes and making small talks both Anna and Daniella decided to take a good rest and decide to continue the day. As Anna and Daniella headed to their room before Anna could take a nap, all she thought was what next?
