𝘔𝘺 first day at Seiryou High School was finally over. The bell had signaled the day was over and sensei had dismissed the class. I was packing my notebooks away when I heard Matsunaga-kun and Katakura-kun start bickering once again. This time I wasn't paying too much attention to them. Thankfully this time sensei had stepped in and stopped their arguing. They had both walked out of the classroom bitterly, shooting the other a glare. Hmm.. why don't they get along? Perhaps before I got here they got in a fight.

At this point, almost everyone had exited the class. I had finished packing up and put my bag over my shoulder. I bought it while shopping with my mom and I thought it was the cutest bag there. A few of the charms jingled as I started walking out of the classroom. I walked down to the first floor, which was quite a workout, and stopped in front of the entrance. I exchanged my indoor shoes for my outdoor ones and I headed off.

A short walk to the station later I felt a lot more tired. It was barely the first day and I still had managed to tire myself out. My thoughts swirl about what happened today while I waited for my train to arrive. Looking for the cafeteria, Matsunaga and Katakura's argument, and the strange Hashiba-kun. He seemed nice but why did he stare at me so much? Maybe he thought he had known me from somewhere. I'm sure there's some kind of explanation for it. I give it some more thought until the train arrived.

I swiftly get in wanting to get home as soon as possible. I swiftly get in, not wanting to get lost in the growing crowd. It was cramped inside but I luckily got a seat. The amount of people in here is making me overwhelmed... I huddled closer to my bag. I have to get use to it, after all, I'll be taking this train almost every day. As the train starts moving I couldn't help but close my eyes. The slow rocking had calmed me down quite a bit. I couldn't help but start getting sleepy. My thoughts slowly start to drift off as I enter a dreamless nap.

The first thing I hear is footsteps. Many footsteps. I slowly open my eyes and see people getting off the train. Oh, that's right, I was on the train home. I rub my eyes a bit, trying to get the sleepiness out of them. I grab my bag and walked onto the platform and started walking home.

The walk home was quite pleasant as I enjoyed the scenery of the neighborhood. Moments like this make me feel at peace. Nostalgic in a way, even though I had only moved here a few weeks ago. I arrived at my home. It was a simple two-story home that needed a few renovations. I grabbed the front door key out of my blazer's pocket and promptly unlock the door. As I walk in my nose is hit with an alluring aroma. I smiled and kick off my shoes and put them neatly on the floor. I walked into the kitchen to see my mom cooking. My mom turned back and gave me a closed smile.

"Anna, welcome home." Her bun bobbed slightly as she greeted me, still cooking. She lowered the temperature of the stove and turned back to me.

"I'm making Omurice, your favorite." She said and went back to focusing on the meal. My stomach rumbled a little as I smelled the air once more. Although I prefer sweets over anything, simple meals like Omurice were a second in my heart.

"Do you need help preparing it?" I asked while setting my bag on one of the kitchen chairs. She shook her head.

"No, it's almost finished anyways. Why don't you go change out of your school uniform?" I nodded and left the kitchen. I silently walk up the stairs, glad to finally be home. I enter my room and change into a simple light pink t-shirt and shorts. I walk back downstairs to the kitchen to see my mom had already set down two plates of Omurice. I washed my hands in the sink and dried them quickly and took a seat. Mom sat across from me.

"Arigato Gozaimasu. It smells delicious." I smiled as I thanked her. My smile grew bigger as I noticed my mom and drew 'I Love You' in ketchup on the egg. So cute. I took a bite out of it with my chopsticks and I immediately feel comforted. Delicious, as always. I gratefully ate more and felt as if I was seeing stars. So soft and warm... We sat in comfortable silence for a bit until mom spoke up.

"So, how did school go? Did you make any friends?" She asked while sipping a glass of orange juice. My smile slightly dropped but I tried my best to bring it back up.

"Well not exactly, but it was still a good day." I feigned a happy tone but mom saw right through it. Her smile dropped as she looked at me, sympathetic.

"Oh, I see." She quietly said and went back to eating. I know what she's thinking. She doesn't want me to be alone again. Since I was young, I never really interacted with people my age. I found it hard to express myself and I just felt so different. Throughout my school years, I was alone and my teachers got worried about me. They told my parents and they've been trying to push me to make friends, specifically my mom. After a beat of silence, she spoke up again.

"Well did anything notable happen at school then?" She slightly changed the subject and I briefly told her about today's events. Leaving out the more... embarrassing parts. A smile resurfaced on her face and it sat comfortably all throughout our conversation.

"Sounds like a busy day." Mom laughed as she stood up and picked up both of our empty plates. I stood up as well, not wanting her to wash the plates after cooking for the both of us.

"Mom, I can wash the plates. You've done enough." I said as she walked over to the sink. She shook her head and turned on the tap.

"It's fine, Anna." She grabbed a sponge and started scrubbing. She hummed softly in thought and looked back at me.

"You can help me by throwing out the trash." She pointed at the bin with her head. I nodded and took the trash out of the bin. I carry out to the front door and put on my pink fuzzy slippers. I open the door and slip outside. The sky was an orange tint with clouds slowly fading out. I heard the sound of children's laughter and smiled to myself. I put the trash in the garbage bin and walked back inside. I walked upstairs and into my room for some long-awaited rest. On my bed was Sakura, my cat, curled into a tiny ball. I scratched her fur and giggled and her cuteness as I turned on the light. My room wasn't very furnished yet, only the necessities such as a bed and a nightstand so far. Maybe I could go out shopping on Sunday for decorations. I pulled out my laptop from one of my drawers and plopped it onto my bed. I climbed in and snuggled into my covers, making sure not to bother Sakura. I sat up and started searching through a few websites. I wasn't looking for anything in particular but a certain ad catches my attention.

Karaoke Bar!! Sing Your Heart Out!! Positions Available!! The ad was eye-catching and made me curious so I clicked on it for more information. The website had been requesting servers for their newest establishment. Huh, it's not too far from here. Maybe I should work part-time there. It would get my mind off some things and maybe it'll help me feel less lonely. I small smile graced my face as I applied there, hoping someone would reach back to me soon.
