karma planned his year perfectly and he couldn't have been more excited to attend high school. the reason, stiles stilinski. karma knew his schedule, extracurriculars, and address. he knew everything from spending the summer watching him. he hoped stiles didn't t think he ghosted him, he was just waiting for the perfect time to talk to stiles which was at school.

his car was shiner than ever and his blank stare was as excited as it ever will be. his sweater was freshly washed and his new twilight tote bag amused him greatly. overall he felt great. no one noticed as karma roamed the halls with his headphones and blank stare. except for one person who stared at him with his mouth open and eyes wide. "Karma!" stiles shouted running after him excitedly.

karma looked back at stiles with a blank stare. "Hello Stiles," karma looked stiles up and down approvingly "You grew out your hair," he stated.

"Yeah, do you like it?" stiles asked gesturing to his hair, smiling brightly.

karma once again grabbed stiles jaw "I like it. See you later, pretty eyes." karma released stiles and once again made a quick exit.

"Who was that?" scott's voice surprised stiles who placed a hand on his chest.

"Karma, you know him?" stiles inquired approaching their english class.

"Never seen him in my life." scott answered honestly, walking through the door.

stiles surveyed the room looking for a free seat and spotted one. he plopped down carelessly until immediately noticing the annoying tapping of the seat next to him. "Hey, can you stop that?" stiles demanded annoyed looking over at his neighbor.

"That's not very polite Stiles." karma addressed smirking at stiles shocked face.

"Karma!" stiles exclaimed not realizing that he would be here.

"Surprise, pretty eyes." karma whispered dryly, his harsh stare softening ever so slightly.

"Have you always been in this class?" stiles asked staring into the dark abyss of karma's eyes. karma was made up of sharp lines with soft edges, he was tall but lacked severe muscle mass. he was scrawnier than stiles yet he held himself with such grace and elegance that made him seem big and strong.

"Just transfered. I enjoy a good book, do you?" karma muttered leaning close to stiles whose eyes widened considerably.

"I-I love to read. I love books and literature, it's my favorite thing ever. I am a big literary buff, you know Shakespeare, gotta love him!" stiles rambled about shakespeare while karma watched with amusement in his eyes.

"Stiles?" karma interrupted the boy who immediately shut up.

"Yes?" he quizzed hoping karma didn't ask him to recite his favorite poem or his favorite book. he didn't read to often and when he did it was purely out of force or obligation to help the pack.

"We both know you don't like to read but it's cute that you tried." karma patted his cheek before turning forward in his seat continuing to read his book. stiles blushed turning to look at scott who looked positively shocked at the encounter and questioned how he never knew who this mysterious boy was.

When the English teacher arrived quoting the last line of a book requesting that they give her their phones, karma knew he was in deep for recently meeting this human boy. But karma was desperate to see stiles even if he had to re-adjust his whole schedule and his morals to do it.

Sometime later, stiles began talking to the girl in front of him who he knew as lydia martin, the schools 'queen-bee'. karma liked her for how she treated others beneath her but otherwise thought she was mediocre. however, he quickly gathered that stiles was smarter than he let on acting like an idiot all the time. deciding to make his presence known he interrupted "What's that thing they say about threes?" he smirked at their shocked faces.

"Wha-" stiles was interrupted by a pounding on the windows. a dead bird had purposefully threw itself into the window. karma's eyebrows furrowed while watching the whole flock race towards them.

"Get down, everyone! Get down! Down! Get down!" jennifer screeched to her students pulling some down under the seats but it would not stop the inevitable. karma who sat next to a window got a piece of glass lodged into his cheek before stiles dragged him down beneath the table. stiles arms were wrapped around karma and for a moment he forgot where they were and what was happening.

stiles was so warm and he held karma so close that he could smell the cologne stiles was wearing. all good things do eventually end which meant the birds stopped and the kids were free to stand. karma blinked slowly as stiles released his tight grip, "Are you okay?" karma held stiles jaw checking for injury but stiles simply gaped at him.

"Karma, your hurt." stiles whispered as if it physically hurt him to imagine karma in pain.

"I'm okay, I promise. It doesn't hurt because of the adrenaline." karma lied easily but stiles seemed to buy it and helped him stand. karma watched all the kids call their parents asking to be picked up and felt the familiar flutter of loneliness he'd been trying to avoid. he didn't miss his father exactly but he missed that feeling of love and paternal obligation but he was a god cursed to live a lonely life with his sole purpose to make sure people got what they deserved.

"Are you sure your okay?" stiles voice startled karma out of his thoughts but he kept a cool and un-affected exterior.

"Yes, I'm fine Stiles, stop asking." karma demanded fiercely but his words held no heat. he knew stiles was just worried but he hated being subjected to a mortals worries. he was a god with the ability to heal for christ sakes but he was waiting for stiles father to arrive so he would not be alone.

"Sorry, I just wanna make sure your okay." stiles looked down to his feet in embarrassment clearly karma had not picked up on stiles obvious attraction to him.

karma sighed reaching for stiles face placing his palms on his cheeks. "I'm fine stiles, I promised you this and I always keep my promises. Now, your father just arrived and I'm going to release you but," karma leaned up to whisper in stiles ear "I am not stupid, stiles, I know you like me and you haven't been able to get me out of your head. Meet me tomorrow at five o'clock, at that new cafe, Normans. Dream of me tonight." karma smirked walking away from the blushing stilinski boy.

stiles is convinced that karma was not real, how could he know about the dreams? he never told karma that, he never told anyone. unless, karma was supernatural which would explain a lot but it would also make him dangerous. dangerous enough that he would have to warn the pack which he did not want to do. kama felt like something special that only stiles knew about and he liked stiles. he chose stiles out of everyone, every supernatural, every boy in town. he chose stiles and that meant something, it had to mean something.
