One Morning

Dice smiled at himself in the mirror as he straightened out his bowtie and slipped his gloves on. He hoped that the frantic phone call he received from Henchman this morning was simply just a regular summons. It could be a typical Devil tantrum or maybe Henchman needed him to host the "Roll the Dice" show once again. Either way, he wasn't too worried about it. He wanted to reassure his place as the Devil's Number One as much as possible. He was confident he could face any kind of challenge put before him today.

"Gooood morning, Boss!~ I sure hope Henchman didn't wake you with his panicking and what have you, but worry not! Your Number One is here to save the day." Dice cheerily sauntered his way into the Devil's bedroom and held a wide grin on his face. When he looked around the room, he noticed it was rather peaceful and quiet... and he also noticed that the Devil was sleeping quite soundly in his comfortable King-sized bed. What in the world would have warranted such an urgent telephone call from Henchman?

The more Dice scanned the room, the more nothing seemed out of place. Dice glanced over his shoulder at Henchman, who seemed to be trembling quite a bit. The imp gestured at Devil, then backed out of the room. Dice almost felt sorry for how helpless and clueless the little guy looked, but he was still confident he could solve whatever problem the Devil had for him. In Dice's mind, Henchman wasn't nearly as reliable as him when it came to tending to the Boss's needs, after all.

King Dice walked over to Devil's bed and noticed how comfortable the other looked; Well, he couldn't see much of his boss except for the horns sticking out the top of the duvet covers, as well as multiple tufts of that shiny black hair, but nevertheless he still looked quite peaceful. A rare sight. Something did seem a little different though...

Shrugging the feeling off, King Dice flipped over the sheets of the bed and gently spoke: "Oh, Boss?~ Good mor— AHHH OH! WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?!" He loudly squeaked out.

The Devil only stirred slightly at the noise, vaguely thinking he was just hearing the screams of the tortured (as he usually would).

"B-BOSS?"

After grumbling a bit, the Devil finally squinted his eyes open to see King Dice peering down at him in shock. The Devil let out a tired exhale, then slowly sat up, not happy to have received a wake up call.

"Dice."

King Dice swallowed.

"Do you have any idea how much sleep I got last night? Before you answer, I will answer this question for you..."

Dice took a few steps back.

" ONE HOUR! And you know WHY I only got one hour? I'll tell you why! It's because I was in pain ALL NIGHT! Sure, MAYBE I shouldn't have drank so much. Sure, MAYBE I shouldn't have eaten so much. Do you think I know why I was hurting all night? Beats me! I haven't the faintest idea! But MAYBE the next time you ever think about waking me up without my say so, I WILL DESTROY YOU!" Devil pointed a fiery finger at King Dice, glaring angrily at him, then backed off as he cooled down the temporary flames of his anger. "Do you understand?" He tilted his head at the other.

King Dice nodded quickly in response. "Y-Yes. But, uh... if I may—"

"WHAT do you even WANT, Dice?! Who told you that you could come in here whenever you wanted anyway, hm?" The Devil growled and quickly stood up out of his bed, since King Dice clearly couldn't take the hint to leave his quarters. However, as soon as the Devil stood up, King Dice's face turned a deep shade of red as his eyes tracked the bedsheets that slipped off of the other. It took a moment for him to process that he was now staring at a stark naked Devil, also noticing that he no longer had fur everywhere like he used to.
