"C'mon, Kenny, you've got this!" thought Kenny as he rang the Cabreras' doorbell.

It felt like the week since Lia agreed to go on a date with him had gone by excruciatingly slowly, each second seemingly getting longer as the day got closer. Not only was it his first official date with Lia, but it was his first date, well, ever.

I just wish I could ask Robby for help with the whole girl thing, but I'll do fine on my own, too.

Though, even he wasn't sold on that last part considering the fact that he wasn't exactly a ladies' man like the King Cobra.

"Hello, you must be the boy Lia's been talking about so much. Kenny, I think it was," said Mrs. Labrera, warmly as the oak door gently opened to reveal Kenny standing on their pouch, holding a bouquet of sweet-smelling sunflowers.

Despite being styled in an out-dated bob, her hair still seemed to bring out her strong cheekbones as she smiled. Just as Lia's always did when she was happy.

"It's a pleasure to meet you," replied Kenny, shaking her hand, cordially.

"Thank you," Mrs. Cabrera smiled, slightly taken aback by his manners.

"Flattery is the easiest way into a superior's heart," Terry Silver's words rang throughout the young boy's mind.

"Lia, your guest is here!" called Mrs. Cabrera over her shoulder without taking her eyes off Kenny.

He could already tell that despite her kindness, she wasn't the type of parent to be messed with, similar to his own mother.

"Coming!" shouted Lia as she raced over to the door to greet her handsome date.

She was dressed in a bright yellow tunic paired with a baby pink silk skirt that swayed against her lean legs in the afternoon air.

"You look great," complimented Kenny, no other words being able to persevere past his feelings of amazement.

"Thanks, you too," added Lia as she grabbed a purple handbag from the nearby table inside the house.

Their eyes seemed to stay locked for several moments as the two teenagers smiled at one another.

"We should probably get going for the concert now," commented Kenny, shaking his head quickly in an attempt to stop staring.

I gotta play it cool if I want this thing to last for more than one date.

"Yeah, you're right," giggled Lia, her bangs bouncing against her forehead as she spoke.

"Just don't stay out too long!" called Mrs. Cabrera, waving avidly as they walked down the smoothly-paved front driveway of Lia's house.

Kenny could tell that the Cabreras were definitely into gardening due to the grass' freshly mowed smell paired with the occasional tiny trees that sprouted up from the otherwise even ground.

That's probably why she wears so many flower-themed outfits!

Not that he was really complaining because he was guaranteed she would look good in anything she wore.

There was about a thirty minute bike ride before they got to the concert, but Kenny didn't really mind.

It honestly felt good to be just him and Lia, the wind blowing on their smiling faces as they peddled faster, trying to compete for who was the best rider.
