You've undoubtedly experienced a lot of suffering in the past, or you may simply be too terrified to start the healing process over, so you occasionally believe that it's preferable to feel less than more in a world where sincere people are hard to find.
But no matter how many times you let someone break your heart, putting your heart on your sleeve is nothing to be embarrassed of. I am aware that concealing feelings has always been the simple solution, but after a long day of criticizing oneself, being vulnerable feels like a loving embrace from a lover. thus be aware that some people may object when the time comes to start letting people back in.
Be aware that not everyone is ready to receive the love you're inclined to give. You've been always enough despite this. For someone who regards you as their equal, you can never be too little or too much. I thus hope that you find consolation in the knowledge that you get up every day and work as hard as you can for love.
