A Reconnaissance of Autumn
it rained today
and it was absolutely gorgeous.
outside the autumn leaves carpeted the grass, some even falling off the trees
amidst the cold fall shower.
it was peaceful, beautiful,
and lonely.
for what is an autumn rain worth if you have no one to see it with.
no one to don their coat and boots and go out to splash in it
and feel the chill of the season.
i suppose i'm meant to miss you a lot, but on days like today i miss you tenfold.
i know i've made some mistakes,
that i don't take care of myself how i should, and that this hurts you
but i'd hoped we'd still spend
the fall together and it's sad to be proven
wrong.
so it rained today,
and i stayed in bed.
