I MEERA I

"He did not!"

"He did"

"The exact words?"

"Yeah! He said, and I quote, "You either get all of me or you don't get me at all."

"Wow"

"Yeah"

"And what did you tell him?"

"Umm..."

"You stood there like a dumb little bitch, didn't you?"

"Yeah..."

"What am I gonna do with you?"

"But to be fair, I didn't expect him to say something like that", I defend.

"Of course, you didn't. Because you're delusional and oblivious as a stone", she says and I can almost feel her rolling her eyes at me.

"I'm not", I protest weakly.

"Right. Anyone who saw the way he looked at you will see that he more than 'likes' you. You're just blind. And dumb", she says.

"I am not", I tell her.

"Yeah, right. Well then what happened?", She asks.

"We kissed. In the elevator ", I tell her.

"What!?", She shouts and I move my phone away from my ears. That was inhumane. No human can make such a squeaky voice.

"Yeah. He knows I'm attracted to him, so he's trying to wear me down with his sexy, sinful body", I tell her.

I hear her laugh, "sexy, sinful body? You're so down bad. Well, is it working?", She asks amused.

"As much as I hate to say it, yes", I tell her. I check my surroundings even though I know there's no way he could hear me, considering the fact that I'm inside my bedroom and my door is closed. But you can never be too sure when it comes to him. He's everywhere these days. Or maybe I've gone mad, because he's all I can think about these days, that bastard!

He'd have a field trip if he knew his little plan to seduce me is working.

"Then what's stopping you?", She asks me.

Yeah, Meera. What's stopping you?

"I don't know. I heard one of his best friends say that he's a flirt. So I'm wondering if he's serious", I tell her.

"Are you kidding? That guy said if you say yes, you'll get all of him. That's more commitment than anything I've seen, short of getting married, these days", she says.

"I know what I said sounds stupid. But I just.. I don't know what to think. On one side, I can see myself fall for him. But I'm afraid. Because as much as I've fantasized about love and relationships, it's much more scary when it's real. I don't know what he's thinking. Does he mean everything he says? Or are they just words meant to placate me? It's easy to lie to get something you want. I don't want to be a lie that he throws away when he gets what he wants", I say, running out of breath.
