Reaching the building where Audre resides, Mart continues to help Audre.
As they arrived to her door -
Audre: "Pwede mo ba ako tulungan dito sa sprain ko? Wala kasi akong alam paano ang gagawin ko."
Mart: "Oo naman, I will check your ankle."
Audre unlocks her door and they enter.
Mart: "Upo ka lang, ako na lang maghahanap ng first aid kit mo. Just tell me where it is."
Audre: "It's in the bath room; punta ka dun (points the bathroom)."
Mart: "Alin dito?"
Audre: "Yung blue na bag."
Mart comes back with the blue bag. He walks toward Audre, sits in front of her, and looks what's inside the kit.
Mart: "Do you have ice?"
Audre: "Uhm, yes, in the freezer."
Mart: "Okay, we will apply cold compress sa paa mo. We have to control the swelling."
Mart gets some ice from the refrigerator and put the ice-pack to Audre's foot.
Mart: "You need crutches actually kasi hindi mo maiaapak muna ang paa mo. ."
Audre: "Wala ako nun eh."
Mart: "I see. Ahm, may payong ka ba?"
Audre: "Ahm, meron naman." (points at the umbrella rack)
Mart: (checks and gets one) "Siguro okay na ito muna gamitin mo na parang tungkod."
Audre: "Sobrang abala na ako sa'yo." (feels embarrassed and sad)
Mart: "Do not worry, you are Paolo's bestfriend. Hindi kita pwede pabayaan. (sincerely smiles)."
Mart checks the first aid kit, gets bandage and a pill, "Inumin mo ito later ha, it's a pain-reliever. Kaya mo bang mag-isa ka lang dito?"
Mart dresses her ankle.
Audre: "Uhm, oo, okay lang ako. Thank you sa'yo. I felt better naman na." (smiles)
Mart: "Gagaling na din ito ng ilang days. (smiles) Huwag mo muna babasain ang paa mo ha. Are you sure you're okay here alone?" (worries)
Audre: "I am sure, I am fine." (smiles)
Mart: (pauses) "Audre, can I just stay here until you will be settled to rest? I mean, alalayan muna kita maglakad, para magawa mo ang dapat mong gawin at para makapagpahinga ka na. Please don't take this negatively. Nagwoworry lang ako."
Audre: (smiles) "Sure. Thanks so much for your concern and help. Let's start with uhmm – let's have a dinner."
Mart makes sure that Audre was able to eat, go to the bathroom, and finally, to her bedroom.
Audre: "Thank you talaga sa tulong mo. Paano kung wala ka doon nung nangyari yun."
Mart: "Eh di, tatawag ka ng tulong sa mga kaibigan mo para balikan ka. (smiles) Okay ka na dito ha? Dahan-dahan ka lang sa pagkilos mo ha. Aalis na ako. . . Ahm, is it okay if I can ask for your number?"
Audre: "Sige. Hehe. Sure. Let me have your phone." (Audre reaches for Mart's phone, types in her number and saves.)
Mart rings Audre's phone.
Mart: "Ako yun. . . If you need help, message mo ako or tawagan mo ako."
Audre: "Owkays."
Mart: "Alis na 'ko. You rest well, okay. Call me if you need help. Good night."
Audre: "Wait."
Mart suddenly stops walking and turns around to Audre.
Audre: "Hinatid mo ako gamit ang kotse ko. Eh paano ka uuwe? I think naiwan mo ang car mo sa school?"
Mart: "Heheh. Okay lang. Babalikan ko na lang sa school ngayon."
Audre: "Ha? Hhmm. . . (pauses) Why don't you use my car then?" (reaches her car-keys)
Mart is silent and thinking.
Audre: "Sige na. . . para madali ka makabalik sa school, gabi na kaya."
Mart: "Eh papano ang kotse mo?"
Audre: "Hindi naman ako makakapasok tomorrow eh." (points at her sprained ankle)
Mart: "Okay. Sige. Pahiram muna ako ng sasakyan mo ah. I will bring it back tomorrow." (gets the car keys from Audre)
Silence.
Mart: "Is it okay if I can see you tomorrow?"
Audre: "Sure. (smiles) Alam mo na saan ako nakatira."
Mart: (smiles) "Okay, then. Thanks for the dinner and for letting me use your car now. You rest well, okay? Tawagan mo ako in case of emergency. Now that you are lying, you must keep your foot elevated, okay? Like this" (Mart arranges a pillow under her foot)
"I will see my way out, and I will lock the door for you. Para hindi ka na bumangon dyan. (sighs) Goodnight."
Audre: "Thanks talaga sa'yo. Good night."
Later that night. . .
[Text conversation]
Mart: "Audre"
Audre: "yes po?"
Mart: "bakit gising ka pa?"
Audre: "I was thinking if nasa bahay ka na?"
Mart: "oo, sorry, heheh. Inintay mo ako?."
Audre: "okay lang. thanks for today. Sorry talaga kanina. Magsleep nako."
Mart: "alright, you sleep well and rest. Wala yun, hehehe. goodnight."
Audre: "thanks ulit for helping me."
Mart: "😊"
