There is a type of prehistoric fish called a lamprey. A lamprey is basically a giant leech. They latch onto their prey and scrape off the scales with a rough tongue and suck the blood of the unfortunate fish. Sea lampreys can grow to be up to 24 inches long. Rest assured though, they don't harm humans.
