Chapter 1: Into another world

_Prologue_

Rimuru was on his way back to Tempest after saving Shizue's student. While riding on Ranga, the space around him suddenly started crumbling. Noticing the unnatural occurrence, Rimuru commanded Ranga to stop.

The clouds stopped moving, and the leaves were frozen in the air. It was as if time had stopped.

"Great Sage... What is happening?" Rimuru asked in a worried tone.

《Notice! A distortion in space is occurring due to events caused by an unknown entity. Time has been forcibly stopped to prevent the distortion from spreading. The area already affected by the distortion is currently unaffected by the frozen time. A distortion in space is extremely dangerous. There is no escaping it unless you have the ability to manipulate time and space. The current power that Master possesses isn't enough to even patch or fix a small grain of it.》

"Are there other places currently affected? What will happen to us?" Rimuru inquired.

Ranga was uneasy, but Rimuru managed to control his composure. Seeing this ranga calms down and was waiting for his masters order.

《Except for this place, currently, there are none. Once the distortion occurs, it will take everything from particles to life force inside of it. Even objects and living beings that can fit within the distortion's current size. Currently, Master and Ranga wouldn't be able to put up a bit of a struggle once the space starts collapsing. There is a chance that Master may die or might be teleported to a different place or world.》

"Wait... How do you know all these things?" Rimuru asked as he signaled Ranga to enter his shadow.

《An unknown entity is providing me with the necessary information. It w-》 Great Sage's words were cut off.

The space around them collapsed, and Rimuru turned around only to see everything shattering.

It happened so fast that he couldn't utter a single word, nor could he move at that time.

He lost consciousness as he quickly drifted away inside the distortion into the space of nothingness.
