Mitch's POV
Tonight is one of my last nights with Brayden. We both leave for different colleges in a week so the only time we will see each other is during school breaks. "Hey Mitch." Said Brayden, interrupting my thoughts.
"Yeah Brayden."
"I just want you to know that I'm going to miss you so much while we are away. You are my best friend and nothing will change that." I'm struck speechless at him words before I respond,
"You mean more to me than anything, Brayden. Nothing will ever pull us apart, and even if our other friends pull away I will be right beside you."
At that point we are about to cry so I pull him into a hug and whisper into his ear, "No matter what, I will love you Brayden."
"I will love you too Mitch."
At that point he breaks down crying so I pull him down until he is lying next to me on the bed. We lay like that for a while until he says, "We will always be friends, correct."
"Of course we will Brayden, nothing could change that."
"Okay then." Then he kisses me. I sit there, shocked for a bit, until I realize what is happening and kiss him back. We do that for awhile until he pulls away and says, "I couldn't leave without doing that to see if what I felt was true."
He then places his head on my chest. We lay there until we fall asleep. My final thoughts of the night are about how we can keep this relationship working even though we will be miles away from each other, but then I realize that if we just stay in contact we will continue to go strong for who knows how long. After that realization I simply smile and kiss him on the forehead.
